Read the text and answer the following questions

John Lennon

John Winston Lennon was born October 9th, 1940 in

Liverpool, England. When he was young, his parents

separated and he went to live with his Aunt Mimi.

John didn't pay much attention in school, he just draw

sketches which later on gave him the opportunity to go to an

art school. There, during this time, he met Cynthia Powell,

who later became his first wife.

At sixteen, John created the group called the "Quarry Men".

At this point, Paul joined the group, and then came George

and time after Ringo starr joined the band.

It is said that the Quarry Men evolved into the Beatles. Stu

Sutcliffe, John's friend and an original member of the Beatles,

died suddenly of a brain aneurism in Hamburg.

John married Cynthia Powell in August 1962 and they had a

son, Julian. The marriage didn't last long and they divorced a

couple years later. John met Yoko Ono soon after and they

got married.

In 1970, the Beatles broke up. After this, he and Yoko Ono,

carried on having solo careers. John Lennon and Yoko Ono

promoted peace by staging "Bed-ins" peace campaign with

speeches to the press giving their famous phrase:"War Is

Over! If You Want It" posted on massive billboards in 12 cities

all over the world.

John disappeared from the public eye in 1975. For the next

five years, be lived at home, taking care of his new son, Sean,

while Ono ran the couples financial affairs.

In 1980, John and Yoko started work on the album "Double

Fantasy" but John's return was short-lived. On December 8th

1980, John was shot by a "lunatic" outside a hotel in New

York. John's memory will live forever in the hearts of his fans.
