VILLA Climate responsive architecture, karwar ...........

The layout of the villa is design to ensure the rising and setting sun do not disturb you as you sleep, keeping bedrooms to the southern corner, yet being cooled by passive breezes off the swimming pool through to the bedrooms either through doorways or windows. The over hanging balcony has a fantastic outlook over the pool giving the feeling of cooling effect. living have double doors to access the outdoor area as well, the high windows to the external side of the lounge then allow air movement through to the lower windows on the internal side. There is also a survey from the kitchen to the front porch to limit having to carry drinks and food to the front porch which brings the landscape into the front outdoor porch

The high slopping roof over the living area provides natural light into the area, heat penetrating barrier, allowing insulate air to flow through the whole building ensuring wide open breezeways to be able to express hot air out. The In discard surrounding the opening high above the roof line that allows for these breezes also ensure a secure area that could not be access from the exterior. Wide over hanging eaves also ensure that rain will not be blown back.

Specifications • Indoor-outdoor flow. It is very important and also think about how the building can enhance the dining experience eg some quiet spots locations for people who are not with families • An area for dining that could accommodate 50 people at its summer lunchtime peak, with indoor outdoor flow. • The café will need an area and utilisation a kitchen to serve the café, a bottle store, washing area• The building will be about 100m². •café should be easy to dismantle.

BRIEF: Is to design the Cafe and all its associated spaces. Aiming to create an experience for the visitor that is particular to its environment and function.
