Using a mixture of flame and plasma deposition, ACT ® applies a thin layer of platinum or 10% rhodium/ platinum to the surface of the ceramics, giving complete corrosion resistance against the attack of molten glass. It will ensure your feeder consumable set is dimensionally stable and durable - essential for the automated feeding process. And it provides 100% shape retention for the lifetime of the coating, allowing a stable forming process and reducing costs. This technology can be used with all types of glass, including soda lime, crystal, borosilicate and opal. The coating can be applied to the majority of refractory materials and the flexible process means complex shapes can be coated. Different coating configurations are available, providing protection at the glass line and against corrosive vapour condensates. ACT ® ceramics are supplied as single items or sets of feeder consumables. For maximum durability and to ensure high quality glass is produced, we recommend the ACT ® feeder consumable set, which includes an orifice ring, stirrer tube and plungers. The ACT ® coating is recoverable, with typical metal returns exceeding 95%.

Providing Advanced Coating Technology® for the Glass Industry ACT® FEEDER CONSUMABLE SET

Cleveland Electric Laboratories is an official distributor for Johnson Matthey’s Advanced Coating Technology (ACT®) for feeder consumables.

Using a mixture of flame and plasma deposition, ACT® applies a thin layer of platinum or 10% rhodium/platinum to the surface of the ceramics, giving complete corrosion resistance against the attack of molten glass.

Different coating configurations

are available, providing protection at the glass line and against corrosive vapour condensates.

ACT® ceramics are supplied as single items or sets of feeder consumables. For maximum durability and to ensure high quality glass is produced, we recommend the ACT® feeder consumable set, which includes an orifice ring, stirrer tube and plungers.

The ACT® coating is recoverable, with typical metal returns exceeding 95%.
