Accessories are a Necessity, Not a Luxury!Henry Barnabei, owner of Smartcell International, has been a successful MetroPCS dealer in Orlando since 2006. He leads by example in terms of product knowledge and commitment to education. He continuously communicates the importance of offering MetroPCS-branded accessories to his team members and customers while in his stores.

To ensure consistency and to prepare for each handset launch, all stores are stocked with every MetroPCS-branded accessory for every handset. His main message to sales team members is that they need to help their customers understand that “accessories are a necessity, not a luxury.” He explains that “a phone is an investment so it’s important to keep it safe, protected and supported with cases, power, screen care and memory”. Barnabei reinforces this message daily as he visits stores and continuously looks for ways to �nd new sales opportunities.

Barnabei focuses on accessory incentives, sales bundles, quarterly events and the promotion of �nancing offers to drive accessory sales. With �nancing, customers are presented with an opportunity to bundle their accessory purchase with the �nancing of their handset which is attractive to his customers. According to Barnabei, “35% of accessory sales are purchased through �nance plans”.

The many hours that Henry has devoted to his team in coaching and providing solid accessory sales initiatives has helped increase both the pro�le of MetoPCS accessories and overall accessory sales throughout his Orlando market stores.
