As we know, West Bengal produces some of the finest talent in the field of Engineering and Technology through its systematic and well-organised network of colleges and universities. There is enormous scope of using the knowledge and ideas acquired by the students at under-graduate and post-graduate level for social development in our country. The Academic Meet is recognized as an effective platform for exploration and brainstorming by UG and PG students of engineering colleges / institutes / Universities in West Bengal, who have that positive inclination in translating their the3oretical knowledge into technology for people. The event includes seminars and paper presentations before eminent experts in different fields. In this way the project concepts and ideas are extracted as well as are duly recognized. Avenues are opened for their implementation and utilization in government and non-government sectors. Also, the two best papers of each stream would be awarded as a token of recognition and the best paper of each stream would be published in a special issue of the journal THOUGHT - A Socio Technical Round Up.

ABOUT MIET

Badal Deb Memorial Educational Foundation has set up Modern Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) in the year 2010, a Degree Engineering College, well in tune with the prescribed national standard. Here, we ceaselessly strive to offer our beloved students, the best possible environment of teaching and learning, sufficient scope to develop their tender mind and soul into knowledge based maturity and come out as a complete human being.

The centre place of Kolkata city or the Kolkata Air Port is only a 45 – 50 Km. distance from our college.

CALL FOR PAPERSPapers are invited from individuals from Universities & Engineering Colleges on Ready-to-Transfer Technologies and Field-level and Cost-effective Applications of Science and Technology.

GUIDELINES FOR PAPER PRESENTERSlThe abstract should generally not exceed 500 words.

lSubmit two complete hard copies of the Manuscript and a compact disk containing the final version of the paper. The manuscript should be within 3000 words, typed in single space on one side of A4 sized paper. Leave margin of 30 mm on left side as well as on the top. Font size should be 12.

lTitle of the paper should be typed in Bold Capitals (Font Size 14), commencing from 50 mm, below the top of the page. Name(s) of Author(s) should be typed two spaces below the title in Title case.

lSection headings should be centered and titled 11-point bold upper & lowercases. The subsection headings should be left aligned and typed in 11-point italic with upper & lower cases.

lTables should be given a table number and a description. They should be numbered using Arabic Numerals.

lInclude only important references numbered in the order of their appearance in the text.

lThe length of the manuscripts should not exceed to 10 pages.

lPlease include black & white photographs only.

lThe Paper should be ready-to-print.
