The FutureThe Future ABMS Board Enterprise model of voluntary

i lt b d tifi ti ill b f d tispecialty-based certification will be foundation of credentialing for foreseeable future

Unclear relevance the ABMS Board Enterprise model will be for improving health care quality and patient safety (value to public).

Unclear how much value we provide the diplomates if we are not aligned with physician accountability movement

In conclusion:In conclusion:

We can enjoy 75+ years of success at improving the quality of care in the US.

Time to applaud the Member Board efforts to date on MOC

However the path for self-regulation is evolving with new public demands--perhaps to shared-regulation

So its time to celebrate, but only for a evening as the journey to secure self-regulation for our

f d h k f h profession is uncertain, and the stakes for the public trust are great.
