About this journal Quranica (ISSN 2289-5396) is an international trilingual (Arabic, English & Malay) peer-reviewed bi-annual journal published by Centre of Quranic Research (CQR), University of Malaya. It reflects on the full range of current scholarly works on Qur’anic Studies. All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by an editor and then a rigorous peer-review, and finally an editorial scrutiny. Aims & scope This journal aims to promote an academic rigor to Qur’anic studies through new and original academic contributions and perspectives to the field. It welcomes researches on Qur’anic sciences (ulum al-Qur’an), manuscripts, scientific miracles, modern applied sciences related to the Qur’an. The content also includes book reviews and conference reports. Submission Guidelines Submission guidelines:
a. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has
neither been published previously nor been submitted simultaneously
for publication elsewhere.
b. The manuscript must be submitted in MS Word format, to
c. The manuscript must include an abstract with some key words, an
introduction, main body, conclusion and references.
d. The abstract should be no more than 250 words.
e. The Manuscript (In-text citation, references and other technical things)
must be formatted according APA Style. For detailed instructions,

f. Each article should be a maximum of 7,000 words including reference
notes.
g. The text of the manuscript should contain no information that might
identify an author.
h. A book review should be no more than 1000 words.

Book Reviews
Quranica publishes several book reviews in an issue. Researchers are encouraged
to submit reviews of any recently published books on the Qur’anic studies.

EDITORIAL
All praise is due to Allah for his blessings and grants in helping us to issue this
volume (6th) of QURANICA. This issue contents eight articles, three of which
are in English, two in Malay, and three in Arabic Language. In the first article,
Dr. Israr deals with the coherence in the Quran by analyzing the preface of
some selected chapters. The second article authored by Dr. Mohd. Amiruddin
is a discussion of the benefits of the honey consumption to the enhancement of
the memory and its link to the Quranic verses that mentioned honey. Whilst,
the third article, by Kouchay, analyses the Quran visibility in the worldwide
websites, this by using some well-known softwares such as: Seoquak, Alexa, and
AChecker. Regarding to the Malay articles, the first article which is written by
Dr. Wan Mohd. is a criticism about Noldeke’s position toward the disjointed
letters at the beginning of some chapters in the Quran. This is followed by a
comparative analysis by Dr. Nurul Zakira between the concept of “Qawa’id al-
Tadabbur” and “Qawa’id al-Tafsir” in Quranic studies.
Meanwhile, the first article in the Arabic section by Dr. Sallami, analyses some
morphems in the Quran and the specific meanings gained by those words in the
quranic uses. This is followed by Dr. Alnahari who discusses the specific
Maqasid in Surah al-Mumtahinah, he mentioned the general Maqasid
containing in this particular Surah. The concluding article in this issue which is
written by Dr. Sib, evaluates the science of the Qira’āt in Imam Shatibi’s
thought and studies. In this regard, we are hoping from this latest issue to
satisfy the desire of readers the Quranic issues and knowledge.
Lastly, the Journal of QURANICA is proud to thank all those who helped in
issuing this volume, from researchers, reviewers, editors, consultants and
administrators. May Allah reward them all.
