ABOUT ACMS

Airfield Construction and Maintenance Service Division is a Saudi base division that draws on the experience and resources from the Kabbani Construction Group, which is one of the largest civil contracting com-panies in the Gulf. Airfield Construction and Maintenance Services Division has a regional and international reputation in the construction and maintenance for both civilian and military airfields. At ACMS we have a strong, dedi-cated research team that have developed some of the most innovative and advanced techniques yet.

Our mission is to offer an outstanding service and sustainable pro-cesses, while delivering the optimum cost effective solution. We are at the forefront of developing new techniques and practices for runway maintenance.

In addition we undertake work ranging from routine maintenance to major airfield construction projects with the highest regard for safety and responsible working practices.

AIRFIELDS

Airfields Division, together with our civil engineering design consul-tants, provides extensive airside expertise on all aspects of airfield pavement construction and maintenance including:• Rapid runway resurfacing without interruption to scheduled opera-tions • Runway, taxiway and apron, flexible and rigid pavement construc-tion. • Thin film polymer bonded overlays for use on runways, taxiways, aprons and sterile areas. • Fuel resistant and fuel non-resistant slurry seal systems. • Pavement quality concrete: including complete thresholds; taxiways and aprons; individual bay and concrete repairs, together with all as-sociated saw cutting and jointing. • Removal of rubber deposits from runways. • Pedestrian and vehicle routes incorporating color demarcation and anti-slip surfacing.Landside, Airfield Construction and Maintenance Services has exten-sive experience in:• The construction and lighting of surface car parks, often over stabi-lized clay or compacted granular bases. • Innovative processes for the installation of temporary car parking surfaces using the minimum thickness of new construction materials. • Road construction and maintenance.

AIRFIELDS MAINTENANCE

We have the ability to offer a variety of sustainable techniques in air-field maintenance catering to your specific requirements. We special-

ize in routine maintenance on a national scale, ranging from overband sealing, joint sealing and concrete repairs etc. We have dedicated Airfield Maintenance teams which carries out rou-tine maintenance to ensure the airfield is kept operable at all times. Below are some examples that we cater for:• Runway Retexturing• Epoxy Repairs• Grooving• Overband Sealing• Joint Sealing • Concrete Repairs• Civil works• Block Paving• Saw Cutting• Fuel Resistance• Drainage

AIRFIELDS TREATMENTSWe believe that all maintenance issues have a suitable economic and sustainable solution that meets the operational and budgetary re-quirements of all airfields. To be able to deliver the optimum solution to the client, we offer a number of products and processes, designed to fit the maintenance requirements. The following process can be offered as potential solutions, based on the level of deterioration and maintenance requirements.

PRESERVATION

Preservation works through a Gilsonite rich membrane that penetrates into the upper surface layer. The membrane permits the binding of the surface aggregate and surface fines, to form a protective sealant, whilst sealing in essential oils and resin. This sealant offers a high bar-rier of defense against surface oxidation and deterioration as well as stopping water penetration and salt ingression.

SLURRY SURFACING

Slurry surfacing is a relatively cheap alternative to traditional surfacing options, that allows runways and taxiways to restore pavement surface friction, at a fraction of the cost.

RESURFACING

Resurfacing is the removal of up to 50mm of old asphalt, and then the reinstatement of the runway with new asphalt. We have our own resurfacing group and equipment available at your disposal.

AIRFIELD REPAIRS

Airfield Construction and Maintenance Services Division has extensive experience in the repair of civil and military airfield pavements using a range of different systems and products for both concrete and asphalt pavements.

EPOXY REPAIRS

Suitable for all areas of concrete in need of repair including spalled joints, corner repairs and surface deformation, epoxy repairs offer fast and effective installation, with cure times as low as one hour, minimiz-ing disruption to airfield traffic and operations. Repairs are carried out by our own trained operatives.

CEMENTATIONS REPAIRS

Cementations Repair is the traditional method of repair, used at lo-cations when time and disruption is not an issue. Often carried out on airfield roads where there is room to divert vehicles around repair areas. Full depth replacement bays to aprons and taxiways use Pave-ment Quality Concrete (PQC)

BITUMINOUS REPAIRS

Permanent repairs, using various types of bituminous materials, can be carried out by our own trained operatives. Planning equipment, for the removal of existing failed surfaces, and machine laying equipment are both available for repairs to larger areas.
