91st Cravens Invitational Tournament

San Gabriel Country Club

Player’s Information

Welcome to San Gabriel Country Club and the 91st Cravens Invitational Tournament. The following information is provided to make your visit with us as enjoyable as possible.

Locker Room: You will be issued a locker for your use during the Cravens. Luis Hermosillo and his staff will gladly help you with anything you may need or to answer any question you may have. Please do not change your shoes in the parking lot.

Food & Beverage: The participant pin that you will receive at check-in is for your food and beverage throughout the tournament. Breakfast is served daily from 6:00 am to 10:30 am in the Clubhouse. Lunch is served at the 14th Green area on the golf course. If you choose not to eat out at the 14th Green area, a limited menu will be available in the Clubhouse for our contestants and guests. These charges may be signed back to your club.

Practice Range: While we do us low compression range balls, it is possible to hit them over the north driving range fence. Please use the “Yellow” range balls when hitting any club that you can hit over 220 yards. Thank you for your cooperation.

Format: Partners must play alternately from the teeing grounds and alternate during the play of each hole. The 128 teams with the lowest qualifying scores will be placed in one of nine (9) match play flights. The match play rounds will begin on Friday, May 13th, or Saturday, May 14th. An Additional 24 teams that fail to qualify based upon their score will be added into the three (3) Visitadores flights based upon the distance of their home club from San Gabriel Country Club.

Handicaps: Team handicaps are determined based upon the lowest index for the year ending May 1st, 2016, with a maximum of 11.9. The slope of the tournament course is 128.

Playoff: The playoff for the remaining spots in the Championship Flights will commence at approximately 5:00 pm on Thursday at the 1st tee followed by the 10th, 17th and 18th holes. Play will be “scratch” and will continue until the last spot in the flight in filled. To find out if you are in the playoff, please contact the Golf Shop at 626-287-6052 on Thursday afternoon.

Match Play Starting Times: Starting times for all flights should be available after 7:00 pm Thursday, depending on the length of the playoff. They may be obtained by going onto our website www.sangabrielcc.com or you can call 626-287-9671.

Golf Tournament Attire: Contestants are required to wear slacks, collared shirt and “spike less” golf shoes. Shorts are not allowed during play for participants. NO EXECEPTIONS.

Contestants’ Dinner: Thursday evening beginning at 6:00 pm, dinner will be served in the California room during and after the playoff. The dinner is for Cravens contestants, Committeemen and invited guest only. Attire for this dinner is a Sport Coat, Slacks and closed toed shoes NO EXECEPTIONS.

Clubhouse Attire: The Clubhouse dress code during the daytime hours is acceptable golf attire. Items considered unacceptable are Cargo Shorts or Pants, Camouflage items, Sport Jersey, T-Shirts, Flip- Flops/Sandals and Tank Tops. Please let your family and friends know about SGCC Clubhouse dress code.

Caddies: Each team will have a caddie furnished by the Cravens Committee. You may bring a caddie with you, subject to approval by the Committee. As a courtesy to our Caddie-Master, Joe Hernandez, please inform him ahead of time if you plan on bringing your own caddie. He can be reached by calling the Golf Shop at 626-287-6052. The minimum Caddie Fee is $80.00 per Bag per Round.

Golf Cart: The Cravens in a “walking” tournament and Carts are for Committee use only.

Shuttle Service: We have a Shuttle Service starting at 10:00 am each day of the Cravens. The shuttles will be located at the front entrance (Porte Cochere) and Snack Bar at the 16th Green gate.

Awards Ceremony: The presentation for flight winners and finalists, and net and gross medalists will begin shortly after the conclusion of the Championship Flight finals. Winners of the awards, and their family and friends and welcomed and encouraged to attend. If you are to receive and award but are unable to attend, please contact the 1st Tee so we can get your picture taken before you leave.

Cell Phones: The use of cell phones is not permitted during stipulated rounds including texting and e-mail. While in the Club House, Cell Phone may be used ONLY in the locker room and our phone room. The area near the First Tee is also excluded. Please set your cell phone to vibrate, silent or completely off.

Cancellations: If you find it necessary to cancel, please call our Pro Shop at 626-287-6052 or our Club Office at 626-287-9671.
