Can your child write his or her own name? Track handwriting through the years as their coordination and writing skills grow.

Being able to say the words on a page won’t help your child unless he can also understand what he is reading. Spend time reading together to make sure that the content is understood.

Don’t forget to facilitate meaning by asking questions and discussing content with your child.

Interesting books will make reading more fun! Take your kids to the library and let them select their own reading material.
