Dear Friend and Supporter,

It is with great excitement that we announce The Community Foundation, serving Riverside and San Bernardino Counties is celebrating its 75th Anniversary in 2016! To celebrate our 75th birthday we are planning an elegant, formal Gala to be held on October 15, 2016 at the Riverside Convention Center. We anticipate over 350 key business, corporate, policy and community leaders from throughout the region to be in attendance. The Gala will have a 1940’s Hollywood theme and will celebrate and highlight the Foundation’s achievements from its beginnings in 1941, its current activities, and our efforts to address the future of philanthropy through the Foundation’s Youth Grantmakers Program. Having its start in 1941, The Community Foundation has grown from being a small Scholarship Distribution Committee based in the City of Riverside to a nationally accredited institution that serves the counties of Riverside and San Bernardino and manages over $90 million in assets. At the Gala, The Community Foundation plans to honor the Tribal Alliance of Sovereign Indian Nations (TASIN) and the following Inland Southern California Tribes for their philanthropic giving, spirit, and support in our two-county region: Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians; Pechanga Band of Luiseño Indians; Cahuilla Band of Indians; Morongo Band of Mission Indians; San Manuel Band of Mission Indians; and the Soboba Band of Luiseño Indians. The Gala celebration includes an elegant dinner, a full orchestra playing the sounds of the 1940’s, compelling tributes highlighting the many donors that helped ensure the growth and legacy of The Community Foundation, and dancing to conclude an evening of fun and appreciation, as we celebrate our past, present and future. We invite you to add your name as a major sponsor for this truly unforgettable evening of fun, purpose, and philanthropy. As we celebrate our 75 years, we want you to know that our success would not have been possible without the vision and generosity of our donors and supporters. Please return the enclosed Gala Sponsorship Form to The Community Foundation by June 10, 2016 to ensure that your name is listed on the invitation and associated marketing materials. We look forward to continuing to build a culture of philanthropy in our region over the next 75 years. Sincerely,

Paulette Brown-Hinds, PhDGala Chair

BENEFITINGYouth Grantmakers Program

Youth Grantmakers, a flagship program of The Community Foundation, was created to empower youth to address issues that are important to them by participating in grantmaking. In 2009, the Youth Grantmakers program was launched in Riverside to cultivate young philanthropists who will follow the traditions of giving and provide opportunities for young people to develop skills and knowledge that will raise the chances that they will commit to lifelong civic engagement, give them a stage for their voices to be heard, and make change in meaningful ways. Since inception, 150 Youth Grantmakers have awarded over $200,000 to nearly 100 nonprofits that serve young people. In 2012 the Idyllwild Youth Grantmakers began with middle school students. In 2012 the Youth Grantmakers Program expanded into the Coachella Valley, the City of San Bernardino and the High Desert.
