“A high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as

cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct”

A proud look

Literally “eyes of loftiness”

It is “an attitude of the heart that overvalues oneself and undervalues others”

Where Prides Leads

Disrespect – Proverbs 8:13

Shame – Proverbs 11:2

Strife – Proverbs 13:10

Separation – Proverbs 16:5

Destruction – Proverbs 16:18

Stubbornness – Proverbs 16:18

Dishonor – Proverbs 29:23

Overcoming Pride

The opposing virtue that can defeat pride is humility

Why do we allow pride to consume us?

Why would we want to waste our time boasting?

Why would we not want to change after seeing that God hates this sin?
