The Spanish Speaking Education Network (SSEN), is a community organization driven by educators, parents, social workers, administrators and the students of our diverse community. Its main purpose is to raise awareness and educate the parents on issues related to the realities that affect our youth of today. Having said that, we have made progress in delivering our message throughout the years by bringing the community to a stage where they are all concerned and ready to close the education gap within our community.

We have put together our best to help the awareness continue to grow, this year commemorating our 5th education congress with the joyous attendance of many leaders in the Hispanic community. Our keynote speaker this year is Scientist Debbie Martinez from NASA, Deputy Manager for the flight test article project in Langley. She has been an active member in the International Hispanic community for years, creating an online network promoting educational growth to youth of minorities. This year, we will also have the presence of Christian Moore of the WHY TRY organization, an organization adamant in preventing drop-out, violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and truancy reduction, while increasing academic success. Moore is an international renowned author, motivational speaker as well as an advocate for at-risk youth. And finally, but certainly not least, Dr. Marcelo Suarez-Orozco, a leading Professor and author of many scholarly essays and books related to globalization, culture, Hispanic people and immigration.
