On behalf of the National Irish Safety Organisation I extend an invitation to you to attend and participate in our 54th Annual Health and Safety Conference. Our Western Region under the Chairmanship of Pauric Corrigan will host this year’s conference and All Ireland Safety Awards presentation

dinner in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Galway, on Friday 13 October 2017.

This year the focus will be on "Health, Safety and Your Wellbeing" within the workplace and delegates will hear from a cross section of speakers. With a list of speakers including regulators, both national and international, and practitioners, we have a very broad coverage of safety matters on oer.

On a personal level, I look forward to meeting up with friends and colleagues who are regular attendees at conference and NISO events.

A lot of contacts are made during conference and friendships have developed over the years arising from the networking at conference.

For those of you thinking of attending for the rst time you will nd a warm welcome from NISO employees and volunteers as well as from your fellow delegates. You will be made feel at home and will meet new contacts as well as getting to meet a lot of safety suppliers at our trade exhibition.

An integral part of conference is our trade exhibition, which gives both delegates and safety suppliers the opportunity to meet in an informal way. New products can be showcased and delegates can decide what interests if any they wish to follow up on with the suppliers at a later date.

Following conference, Friday night will see NISO, in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Safety Group (NISG), celebrate and congratulate companies who have earned All Ireland Safety Awards in recognition of their pursuit of best health and safety practice in 2016. These Awards will be presented by the Minister for Trade, Employment, Business, EU Digital Single Market and Data Protection, Pat Breen TD.

Come and meet our sta and volunteers at our 54th Annual Health and Safety Conference, take a few moments to network and be surprised as you develop friendships in the safety world. These friendships can be very important when you have a health or safety issue at work and a phone call can get you invaluable advice.

I look forward to meeting you.

Harry Galvin,

President NISO

Message from the President and Conference Chairperson
