5 Tips to preparing for MBA entrance exams

CAT, MAT, CMAT and other MBA entrance examination have been noted to be some of the

most competitive exams conducted in the past century. This has been directly linked to a

few university being recognized globally thus providing more opportunities for students

graduating from the universities. To be able to secure admission in such university one

needs to prepare in the best possible ways and answer entrance examination with high

accuracy.

The top universities are only looking for the best student and if you could achieve the

desired result then you need not worry achieving CAT, MAT and CMAT qualification marks.

Never the less following some tips could help a student organize and prepare for the

examination. The following factors could help a person achieve better results if used:

Begin by understanding why you want to take the examination and if you have the

required time to spend studying for the CAT, MAT and CMAT qualification

examination. Identify whether you have the required time and zeal to learn could

help a person understand their future targets with regard to the examination. There

is no point in trying to attend the entrance examination if your objectives are not

clear.

Search for the required study material, ask friend for old books or buy them if

required. Study material plays a major role of increasing your chances of success.

Today many students are resorting to use the internet to download study material. It

could be stored on appropriate devices for later usage or printed on paper and

accumulate as much material as possible. Learn and use independent methods of self

study, avoid following guide and study tips that propose certain methods. Research

shows each individual has their own way of learning and a student should learn or

identify their own before attempting CAT, MAT and CMAT as this increases chances

of cracking the examination.

Identify your weaknesses before others identify them; only after one understands

what problem they face they will be able to make the required changes. Waiting for

tutor to identify your weaknesses only demoralize a student.

Take mock tests on your own and keep to the allotted time, no need to attend

couching classes as these will only provide short time solution. One could attend a

mock test at a training center after they have gather confidence in the CAT, MAT or

CMAT practice papers they have done.

Avoid anxiety as this has been noted to be the biggest reason many students are

able to clear the examination. Stress clouds a student’s mind and if you have stress

problems one needs to return to the first stage and begin by clearing anxiety

problems that could result in not passing CAT, MAT and CMAT examinations.
