Saffron The Day of The Jakyl

Part of a long term, personal project, drawn with Illustrator, Day of the Jakyl is about the revenge of a disgruntled slave named Kahn, who tries to blackmail the fallen God of his long forgotten cult into giving him ultimate power. Kahn lures in the unwitting hero of the series, Saffron, on the day of a sacred ceremony and solar eclipse, to sacrifice him for the god who has been turned to stone millennia ago. However, Not all goes to plan for Kahn when Saff has to form an uneasy truce with his renegade brother, who has been persuaded to rescue him.

Henry VZbrush Portrait

Understeer JPNThis was a freelance project to create low poly heads for the presenters of Japanese motoring show Understeer, while doing a feature on Gran Turismo 5, as polygonal game characters.

Westfield Canary Wharf

A collaborative project of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students to create an architectural visualisation for a new shopping centre in Canary Wharf.

As leader of the 3rd year team, we were in charge of the new building and co-ordinating the 2nd and 1st year team who were doing the interior and city buildings respectively.

We decided to include the surrounding area to become a multi-functional community space, with outdoor market, Thames Clipper stop, skate park and outdoor exhibition space.

i Quest Application

Selection of Vector icons and graphics for an augmented reality iPhone RPG application called iQuest.

City Soundscape

This was a collaborative project with myself and another to create a 3D soundscape. We chose night time city ambiance shown through an alley way to show different aspects of the city, from the dark and threatening of a dog barking and a police helicopter to the optimism and excitement of a fireworks display in the distance.

Dragon Fist

Dragon Fist is a character from a fighting game based on infants with supernatural powers. Dragon Fist was an ancient entity transformed into an infant by some

unknown evil force.

Several other character concepts included a spoilt ballerina and a heavy masked wrestler.

Exile JPN

For this freelance project, I worked with a team to aid in the creation of background visuals for Japanese Band Exile’s 2010 Fantasy tour. I led a part of a team to create an initial balcony scene and props for song Futatsu no Kuchibiru.

Cartier JPNFor this freelance project, I worked with a team

to improve lights, rendering and materials for the existing models, for Japanese web magazine

Openers, to launch Cartier’s new model Calibre. I mainly worked on Calibre but also worked on all

of the other watches, Pasha, Tank Americaine, Ballon Bleu, Santos 100 and Santos 1904.

Otto MatikA stop motion animation in which Otto-M8, working in the worlds largest number manufacturing plant, often finds himself drifting off into his own imagination where he no longer has to make integers from scrap metal. His dream is to become a chef, but is he any good at it in reality?

UOG Animated Banner

Animated Flash programmed Banner for The University of Greenwich’s MA in 3D animation, featured on the UOG Young Designers Programme website.

Ready Brek Ad Concept art for Perry the Polar Bear and Tina the Turtle who enjoy Ready Brek every morning for breakfast. Perry can sometimes be short tempered in the morning but his wife Tina is always there to look after him.

The project was an introduction into facial rigging and lip syncing, in which I also got to use CAT rigging for the first time.

Robot Music Video

In a post apocalyptic world where no animal survives, a lone robot finds an ancient discarded guitar. Upon playing it, the music spreads across the barren land and causes life to spring back into the Earth.

Labyrinth

This was a collaborative, cross departmental project in my 2nd year, for which I project managed. We had a team of 7 people to work on sound design, programming, animation, environments, characters; the whole process from initial storyboarding an adaptation of Theseus and The Minotaur to a fully playable game, complete with cutscenes, non-linear narrative and full 3D gameplay.

The highlight of the project was being able to do some motion capture for the first time at the University's Sports Science department, with 2 of us having to learn MotionBuilder within in a week.

Sorrell YDP Lambeth College

A scheme linked to the Sorrell Foundation, aiming to give FE and He students experience working with designers in a collaborative, cross-department project. The FE students acted as the clients, setting the brief for us to fulfil, ending with a formal presentation and exhibition at New Blood 2010.

Human HybridisationInspired by gene splicing and Olympic athletes. The 3 concepts follow the Olympic motto of Higher, Faster, Stronger. Each hybrid has different animal characteristics giving them an advantage in a particular event, running, weight lifting and javelin throwing.

For this project I worked with Di-O-Matic's Hercules muscle plugin and a custom CAT rig with the CAT motion editor for the running motion to try and simulate the different gait styles of the hybrids.
