Historic Macon has kept this sweet tradition alive and will host Cottage Christmas Friday, Dec. 2 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cottage Christmas is an open house showcasing the Sidney Lanier Cottage beautifully decorated for the holiday season. Baked goods will be for sale throughout the day while free admission is offered to the Cottage. Free refreshments will be served, and the Side Porch Gift Shop will have a special holiday sale. All bake sale items are homemade and donated by friends and supporters of Historic Macon Foundation and the Sidney Lanier Cottage. The bake sale includes everything from holiday casseroles and cheese straws to a variety of cakes and candy. “Each year, people line up early outside the Cottage to snag the best goodies,” said Historic Macon Director of Development Janis Haley. “Cottage Christmas is the place to be to buy gifts and delicious treats for the holidays.” The Sidney Lanier Cottage is located at 935 High St. Call (478) 742-5084 for more information.
