National Savings Certificate (NSC) and Kisan Vikas Patra (KVP) will now be issued in electronic mode as government has decided to discontinue the system of pre-printed paper certificates. As per the orders of Finance Ministry the existing system of physical pre-printed certificates for KVP and NSC has been discontinued from 1st of April this year and will be replaced by certificate on electronic mode.

On 29th March China launched the 22nd BeiDou satellite named BeiDou-22 into space as part of its domestic BeiDou Navigation System (BDS). BeiDou Navigation System (BDS) is a global satellite navigation system consisting of 35 satellites which include 5 geostationary orbit satellites for backward compatibility with BeiDou-1, and 30 non-geostationary satellites that will offer complete coverage of the globe. The Haryana Assembly on 31 March 2016 passed two Bills making it mandatory for those contesting the polls for urban local bodies to have a minimum educational qualification. These bills are (i) The Haryana Municipal (Amendment) Bill, 2016 (ii) Haryana Municipal Corporation (Amendment) Bill, 2016. 1. The minimum educational qualification of the general category candidates contesting the elections for urban local bodies would be Class X. 2. In case of women candidates or those belonging to the Scheduled Caste category, the minimum qualification would be Class VIII, while for women of the Scheduled Caste category, it would be Class V. 3. The candidate should not have been convicted or have charges framed against him/her by a court in a criminal case for an offence punishable with imprisonment for not less than 10 years . 4. The candidates should file a self declaration that they have the provision of a functional toilet at the residence. There should be no pending arrears of electricity bills against the candidate.
