Greetings and Happy New Year Orlando Camera Club members!

Our 2016-2017 President, Mike Wacht, has stepped down from his role due to increasing work travel and personal commitments. We wish him the best and hope he will find time to continue attending our meetings when possible. As Vice President, I have stepped into the President’s role and will finish out the 2017 year.

In October, your board members met in a visioning session. Our top focus categories for 2017 are Education, Portfolio Reviews, Field Trips and the addition of a projected informational slideshow to greet members on arrival. You will see some changes in the coming months with a structured Novice group series rotating between Know Your Camera, Exposure Triangle, Composition and concluding with a Saturday Field Trip for Novices to practice what they’ve learned. Our Intermediate Group will address more advanced camera techniques, Lightroom, Photoshop, and how to use various photo-graphic accessories. These are well into the development stages and we will update you when our next Novice and Intermediate Group meetings will take place.

I welcome your communication and look forward to hearing your ideas at future meetings. You may also send email to [email protected].

Warmest Regards,Julie Lee

January 9, 2017 - Jeffri Moore - presents “Camera Phone Photography

as a Creative Art Form”

Jeffri’s presentation outlines basic photography tips for new camera phone photographers; and, through a presentation of some of Jeffri’s work, she will show you how camera phone photography has become a creative art form. Beware: If you get passionate about this form of photography, you will find yourself spending hours downloading apps, experimenting with different tech-niques while editing your photos; and thus, stepping one rung further down into the rabbit hole of camera phone photography; hopefully, having as much fun as she does.Jeffri has been around art in some form most of her life. Since 2008, Jeffri renewed her interest in photography, and -has been a member of the Orlando Camera Club (OCC) since 2008, - Attended the Judging Academy held by the OCC in April 2011 and

was a judge at OCC competitions, - Volunteers for community service events as a member of the OCC

and the Oviedo Photo Club, - Was President of the Oviedo Photo Club from June 2010 to January

2013.

Jeffri’s photographs have been published in several publications; and, she currently has images on display at the University of Florida’s Research and Academic Center at Lake Nona. Jeffri has won multiple awards at the Orlan-do Camera Club competitions, as well as winning ribbons in several Florida Camera Club Council competitions, and an Honorable Mention in the Or-ange Audubon Society’s 2010 Chertok Nature Photography Contest. She enjoys digital scrapbooking and the creative process of photo editing – includ-ing showing others the potential for their own photographs. Jeffri loves to tutor/mentor anyone with a desire to learn about photography and editing.

Since 2011, Jeffri became fascinated with camera phone photography and mid-2016, was asked to write a Guest Blog Post, which can be found here http://ristainophotography.com/iphone-photography- tips/. After reading the blog post, you will find out more about Jeffri’s history with the camera phone as well as discover many of her tips and resources for having fun with camera phone photography. Jeffri has presented a talk on tips & techniques for camera phone photography to several groups; and, is currently working on a presentation to show how one can create art with their camera phone.
