BRIE BELLA WARDROBE MALFUNCTION

Before Justin Timberlake and Janet Jackson invented the wardrobe malfunction—or at least coined the term to describe the unexpected exposure of normally covered body parts—the entertainment industry was different. Everyone tried hard to make sure a women‘s breasts did not fall out of their costumes, because they knew someone would be held accountable if some young, impressionable child saw something as depraved and unnatural as a woman‘s nipple.

But now? Meh, if a boob falls out, it falls out. It‘s not anyone‘s fault—just a case of a wardrobe not functioning in the manner in which it was intended. What can you do?

The folks over at the WWE know a little something about this. They‘ve been doing the whole ―Diva‖ thing since the mid-to-late 1990s, and all along pretty much everyone has understood that, when two women wrestle in skimpy outfits, stuff is going to fall out.

That being said, the Divas don‘t always have to be wrestling in order for wardrobe malfunctions to occur. The one that happened to Brie Bella last night on Monday Night Raw, for example, occurred while she was just sitting there.

BICYCLIST GUILTY OF VEHICULAR

MANSLAUGHTER GETS NO JAIL TIME

A bicyclist pled guilty to felony manslaughter on Tuesday in San Francisco, California in a deal that prosecutors have hailed as the first conviction of its kind.

As The Inquisitr reported in March, Marin County resident Chris Bucchere was charged with felony manslaughter after the bicyclist ran over 71-year-old Sutchi Hui in the Castro District of San Francisco on the morning of March 29, 2012.

Although he was not driving a car, Bucchere was charged with felony vehicular manslaughter in March 2013 after Judge Andrew Chang agreed with prosecutors that there was surveillance video evidence that the bicyclist had been traveling at a high rate of speed at the time he struck Hui.

Witnesses also testified that they had seen him run other red lights before the accident, with the implication that the bicyclist was trying to set a personal speed record.

But what may have sealed his guilt in the eyes of the public was Bucchere‘s inept attempt to defend himself in social media.

For instance, SF Fist noted that it‘s believed the bicyclist himself is the person who left posts in the Mission Cycling AM Riders Google group where he claimed he was committed and going too fast to stop when he entered the intersection where he killed Hui. The posts have since been deleted.

San Francisco prosecutors say that they don‘t know of another case in America where a bicyclist who hit and killed a pedestrian was prosecuted for felony manslaughter. A bicyclist in Washington, D.C. who killed a pedestrian pleaded guilty to misdemeanor manslaughter and received no jail time.

Under the plea deal announced Tuesday, the San Francisco Chronicle reported that the 37-year-old Bucchere will not serve any jail time either. When he reports to court on August 16, Judge James Collins will hand down a 1,000 hour community service sentence to the bicyclist for the felony manslaughter.

The judge will also have the option to reduce Bucchere‘s conviction to a misdemeanor after six months.

What are your feelings about the cyclist‘s felony manslaughter plea deal that seems to come with a get out of jail free card?

TEEN CAN NOT CLOSE HER EYES

A teenager has a rare condition that has left her skin so damaged that many people believe she has been involved in a fire.

Hunter Steinitz, 18, has a rare genetic condition, harlequin ichthyosis, which means her skin is too thick and she has dry patches all over the body. She is unable to close her eyes, wears a wig because her hair follicles are blocked by skin, and is in constant danger of dehydrating because she cannot sweat.

he condition also limits Hunter‘s movements – the thick skin stops her from flexing her fingers. In the past, many patients with harlequin ichthyosis did not survive their first year, because they miss vital fats in the skin which protect against bacteria and contaminants. Today, increasing awareness of ways to manage the skin condition is helping people like Hunter live for longer With advice from doctors, Hunter begins every day with a long beauty session.

She takes a long bath – sometimes lasting two hours – soaking as much moisture into her skin as possible. Then she applies a range of lotions and oils, which she gently rubs in to lock in the moisture, reapplying throughout the day.

According to Hunter growing up was very difficult due to school bullying. To stop the bullying she would stand up for herself and introduce herself explaining her condition. While the move earned her some valuable friends, it did little to stop the name calling. Hunter is going to university in September and is becoming a spokeswoman for her disorder. Working with the FIRST foundation she‘s started giving motivational talks at universities and to schoolchildren.

DRUNK CANADIAN MAN ARRESTED AFTER

SWIMMING TO DETROIT

John Morillo, a 47-year-old Canadian man, apologized today for causing an international incident last night when he drank eight beers and then swam across the Detroit River, just to prove to his friends he could.

Speaking to the Windsor Star after being released from jail this morning, Morillo said in retrospect it was ―really stupid‖ of him to drunkenly swim across the river, but not without adding that he wanted his incredulous buddies to know he‘d pulled it off (emphasis ours):

If I‘m going to be in the paper, I‘d at least like them to say I actually made it, even though I got in trouble and everything. I gotta pay fines and stuff. But I don‘t want it to sound like I didn‘t make it, because then my buddies are going to say ‗ha, ha, you didn‘t make it.‘ Because that was the whole thing, to show them I could do it.

Morillo‘s stunt launched a joint search mission between the Canadian and U.S. coast guards when his neighbor called the police after losing sight of him in the water. Rescue efforts included three boats and a helicopter. Morillo, who calls himself a ―strong swimmer,‖ had made it across the river and was on his way back when the U.S. Coast Guard found him floating on the Canadian side at around 1 AM, two hours after he‘d initially entered the water.

Windsor authorities have banned Morillo from all waterfront city property and will fine him $5,000 for swimming in a shipping channel. Exacerbating everything, Morillo, who was ultimately charged with being intoxicated in public, says his mom is very mad at him. ―She just hung up on me,‖ Morillo told the Star. ―She said ‗you‘re just so stupid.‘‖

TACO BELL DROPS KID MEAL FROM MENU

Taco Bell announced Tuesday it has become the first national fast food chain to drop its kid‘s meals, saying it will discontinue the toy and food combos at some locations this month and across the brand by next year.

―Kid‘s meals and toys simply no longer make sense for us to put resources behind,‖ said Greg Creed, chief executive officer of Taco Bell, in a statement early Tuesday. He added that the move will have an ―insignificant impact on sales.‖

Taco Bell is owned by Yum Brands , which also owns KFC and Pizza Hut. KFC plans to continue to offers its Li‘l Bucket Kids Meal, but that combo does not have a toy in it. Instead, it has a ―Weird But True‖ fact card from National Geographic.

Kids meals have been criticized by some public health groups for contributing to childhood obesity by making young children more eager to eat high-calorie, fast food meals. The decision was cheered by the Center for Science in the Public Interest, which called on competitors such as McDonald‘s (MCD, Fortune 500), Burger King (BKW) and Wendy‘s (WEN) to follow suit.

―Taco Bell is taking a constructive step forward by no longer using toys to encourage kids to pester their parents to go to a restaurant,‖ said the group. But at the same time, it expressed concern that parents will now get adult meal combos for their children. ―It‘s not as if its adult menu is full of health food,‖ it said.

NAS JAY Z JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE SINATRA IN THE

SANDS PRODUCED BY TIMBALAND

Now that he and Jay-Z have conquered the charts with Magna Carta… Holy Grail, Timbaland has set his sights on the next hip-hop icon—Nas.

During an interview with Revolt TV, the super-producer revealed that he has produced a collaboration between Nas, Jay-Z, and Justin Timberlake.

―Nas got a song right now with him, Jay, and Justin, and it‘s completely stupid,‖ said Timbo. ―It‘s called ‗Sinatra in the Sands‘ and Justin sounds like Frank Sinatra.‖

He plans to add more of his platinum touch to Nas‘ next album. ―I told Jay this, the person that gets me from hip-hop now, their album is really gonna be phenomenal, and that‘s Nas.‖

Timbaland also weighed in on Aaliyah‘s posthumous collaborations with Drake and Chris Brown. ―It ain‘t gonna work ‘cause Aaliyah music only work with its soulmate, which is me.‖

However, he did praise Drake. ―He‘s gonna be around for a long time. I talked to big brother Jay and I was like, ‗Yo, we gotta embrace this young soldier,‘‖ said Tim. ―We adopted [DJ] Khaled, that‘s my dude, and we adopted Drake.‖

In the interview, he also discusses Missy Elliott‘s comeback and touring with Jay-Z.

SHARK ATTACK KILLS BRAZILIAN TEEN

As lifeguards approached to pull a drowning Brazilian teenager from the water, she suffered a second, fatal misfortune — a shark attack.

Bruni Gobbi, 18, and a cousin were on the verge of drowning at Boa Viagem beach in the northeastern Brazil city of Recife on Monday, according to the local government‘s social defense secretariat.

Lifeguards responded immediately to try to save them, and in the midst of the rescue, a shark attacked Gobbi‘s left leg, the secretariat said.

Rescuers managed to move her to shore, and then to a hospital, but she died later that night, CNN affiliate Globo TV reported.

―The rescuers came in a matter of five minutes, but to us it felt like five years,‖ Gobbi‘s cousin, Daniele Gobbi, told Globo TV.

Bruna Gobbi became the first woman to die from a shark attack in the coastal state of Pernambuco since record-keeping began in 1992, O Globo reported.

―We knew there were risks of an attack, but I didn‘t think that it would happen in the shallow (water), but in the deep,‖ the cousin said.

Sharks have attacked 57 people off of Recife‘s coast since 1992, according to state data. Of those, 40% of the attacks happened at Boa Viagem beach.

―We speculate, based on the season and the conditions, that it was a bull shark,‖ Rosangela Lessa, president of the agency that monitors shark attacks, told Globo TV.

The local government‘s security cameras captured the attack and rescue on video.

A lifeguard‘s Jet Ski-type craft can be seen approaching the stranded swimmers when a sudden flurry of movement creates a splash around Gobbi, followed by a pool of red around her.

An autopsy will be performed, Globo TV reported.

MAGIC MIKE MOVIE TURNED INTO MUSICAL

Magic Mike – the film based partially on Channing Tatum‗s early days a stripper – is heading to Broadway as musical, the actor has confirmed.

The story about a veteran stripper Magic Mike, expertly played by Tatum in the movie, who teaches a rookie about the profession is making the leap from the big screen to the Broadway stage, Deadline.com reports Tuesday. Tatum, who tweeted the news, used his own experiences as a male dancer 12 years ago at the age of 19 in Tampa, Florida.

The show will be produced by Channing Tatum and his partner Reid Carolin, along with the film‘s director Steven Soderbergh and co-producers Gregory Jacobs and Nick Wechsler. The songs will be written by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey, the creators of other Tony- and Pulitzer-winning Broadway hits like ‗Next To Normal,‘ and the book will be written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

The $7 million film has since gone on to gross nearly $160 million worldwide and is currently available on DVD. Director Soderbergh has described the film as a fictionalized version of what Channing went through. The movie version also starred Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Olivia Munn and Lindsay Lohan. No word on when the curtain will rise on the Broadway production or who is set to star yet. A sequel to the 2012 film is also in the works.

BOXER EMILE GRIFFITH DEAD

mile Griffith, the world champion boxer best remembered for fatally beating his opponent in a 1962 title bout, died Tuesday at age 75.

He died at an extended care facility in Hempstead, New York. The U.S. Virgin Islands native struggled with pugilistic dementia and required full-time care late in life, likely due to the blows he received throughout his career. Griffith was the first boxer from the U.S. Virgin Islands to become world champion and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1990.

Griffith often attended fights in New York, especially at Madison Square Garden, where he headlined 23 times. He was also a frequent visitor to the many boxing clubs around New York City. He would slowly rise from his seat, often with assistance, and smile while waving when he was acknowledged.

The outpouring of love that he received late in life stood in stark contrast to the way he was received after March 24, 1962, when he fought Bennie ‗The Kid‘ Paret before a national TV audience at the Garden. Griffith knocked out his bitter rival in the 12th round to regain the welterweight title. Paretwent into a coma and died from his injuries 10 days later.

ACTOR SUES DOLCE AND GABBANA

Actor Peter Fonda is suing designers Dolce & Gabbana and retail chain Nordstrom for $3 million over a t-shirt with his face on it.

The 73-year-old star filed legal proceedings against the firms claiming they have been illegally selling garments bearing his image without his permission. The t-shirt in question is printed with a picture of Fonda as biker Wyatt in the iconic 1969 movie Easy Rider. The law suit filed by Fonda‘s lawyer in Los Angeles last week claims Italian fashion design duo Dolce & Gabbana ‗knowingly manufactured, distributed and sold, or licensed for sale‘ t-shirts with his image on without his permission. Nordstrom is listed in the suit for allegedly selling the t-shirts.
