On 22 February 2016 Union Tourism Ministry launched Swachh

Paryatan Mobile App.

Through this app people will be able to complain about any

unclean area and garbage piles in and around tourist

destinations.

Initially, 25 Adarsh Smarak Monuments protected by

Archaeological Survey of India have been included in the app.

People will be able to take photograph of garbage at the

monument and upload it. The app then send this image to the

ASI Nodal Officer concerned with the monument. Now it is the

responsibility of the Nodal Officer to get the garbage cleaned.

Swachh Paryatan Mobile App

Ismail Mahomed is an Indian-origin playwright in South Africa. A

playwright is a person who writes plays for the stage. On 22 February

2016 he was conferred Knighthood by the French government for his

lifelong devotion to the promotion of arts.

Mahomed was bestowed with The Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et

Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Literature) by French

Ambassador Elisabet Barbier in Johannesburg.

The Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Order of Arts and Letters) is an

Order of France, established on 2 May 1957 by the Minister of Culture,

and its supplementary status to the Ordre national du Mérite was

confirmed by President Charles de Gaulle in 1963.

Ismail Mahomed conferred Knighthood by

French Government

Metropolitan Stock Exchange of India Ltd is India’s youngest and one of the three stock exchanges recognized by country’s securities market regulator, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). It was earlier known as MCX Stock Exchange Ltd. MSEI on 22 February 2016 appointed Udai Kumar as its Managing Director MD and Chief Executive Officer. The appointment was approved by SEBI. Prior to MSEI, he was the MD of Metropolitan Clearing Corporation of India Limited.

The Road to Resilience is an initiative of the World Bank. Under

this initiative a team took a bus trip along the entire Indian

coastline.

The journey started on 10 January 2016 and ended on 15

February 2016.

This 10.000 kilometer journey provided a chance to implement

support for six coastal disaster management and climate

resilience projects covering all ten coastal states of India,

which are supported by the Global Facility for Disaster

Reduction and Recovery.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on 22 February 2016

inaugurated an exhibition on the Coin and Currency of India at

the Great Hall of North Block in New Delhi.

The exhibition would help in knowing the history of evolution

of currency in the country.

The Department of Expenditure under Union Finance Ministry

organised the exhibition in coordination with the RBI, CPWD,

CISF, the Indian Army, Staff of DoE, Customs and Excise

Officers.

World Day of Social Justice was observed on 20 February 2016

with the theme "A Just Transition - environmentally

sustainable economies and societies".

To mark the occasion, various activities were organised across

the world to stress importance of the 2030 Agenda for

Sustainable Development which laid special emphasis on

achieving social justice.

The day was created by the United Nations General Assembly

in 2007 in order to support efforts of the international

community in poverty eradication, the promotion of full

employment and decent work, gender equity and access to

social well-being and justice for all.
