Fashion forward Gucci 3D Glasses
The Gucci 3-D glasses contain a high tech multi-layered mirrored coating which allows the wearer to view themselves in
a mirror without distortion. The mirrored coating not only provides a premium look as well as offers superior viewing and
contrast enhancement, but also allows over 98 percent of visible light through, therefore not affecting viewing in a cinema
environment. An anti-reflective coating has been applied to the back of the lens for additional overall image quality by reducing
scattered light, glare and blue light. These aviator style 3D glasses will be available at Gucci boutiques now for £143 GPB.

The future is about living longer and creating a whole and external environment which improves the quality of life

The Wonder of Abu Dhabi
A computer image of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, designed by the French architect Jean Nouvel.
The building is expected to cost about €108 million to build, and will include art from all eras and regions, including Islamic art.
The Louvre Abu Dhabi is sited in Saadiyat Island’s
new Culture District, developed as the world’s
largest single concentration of premier cultural
institutions.
Desert Louvre
France’s historical museum, Le Musee du Louvre, the world’s premier shrine to art
and home to priceless works like the Mona Lisa, has announced it will open a new
Louvre in Abu Dhabi. The Louvre Abu Dhabi is a joint thirty-year cultural agreement
between Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the French
government. The 24,0000 square metre branch of the famous Paris museum, designed
by French architect Jean Nouvel, is expected to be open in 2012 as part of Saadiyat
Island’s Culture District project. The Louvre Abu Dubai is about to become one of
the world’s premier art galleries. ‘ The project is a unique example of international
cultural cooperation. It reflects France’s capabilities of implementing huge cultural
schemes, as well as the UAE’s keenness to open up other cultures, especially the
French heritage,’ said Christine Albanel, Minister of Culture and Communication.
31. 2154
The purpose of Abu Dhabi’s cultural programme is to introduce people to both
art and the ideas of the Louvre Abu Dhabi, as an exciting new universal muse-
um created in Abu Dubai. The Pritzker Prize- winning architect Jean Nouvel,
who designed it stated: ‘ This building belongs to this site.’ The new Louvre
will be inspiring, showcasing high quality artwork from all over the world
but not merely recreating the Louvre in Paris. One of the main focus points
of the museum project is said to be bridging the distance between Eastern and
Western art pieces, which will create a new dynamic of culture. It is located
on Saadiyat Island, a low lying island 500 metres off the coast, in Abu Dhabi,
one of the world’s riches cities, now focused on developing visionary projects
based on modern architecture and sustainability. The final cost of the construc-
tion is expected to be between €83 million and €108 million. The opening
of the museum is also one of the most eagerly awaited projects of the city
of Abu Dhabi, and it is also expected to raise the tourism bar of Abu Dhabi
and aid in the evolution of the city into a global centre of arts and culture.
The Musee du Louvre was charged with a twofold mission when it established
in 1793: to promote cultural education and develop aesthetic sensibilities.
Now, over two centuries later, the same values are at the heart of the project
to create the Louvre Abu Dhabi. On Tuesday 7 March 2007, the Louvre in
Paris announced that a new Louvre museum would be completed by 2012 in
Abu Dhabi as part of a thirty- year agreement between the city of Abu Dhabi
and the French government. This thirty- year agreement was signed by French
Culture Minister Renaud Donnedieu de Vabres and Sheik Sultan bin Tahnoon
Al Nahyan. The contract prohibits the creation of any similar operation with
the name of the Louvre in any of the other emirates of the UAE, Saudi Arabia,
Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iran or Iraq.
French President on this occasion Jacques Chirac praised the museum deal
with Abu Dhabi, saying it reflects “ a certain idea of the world” in which each
party to the accord is proud of its roots and of its identity, is conscious of the
equal dignity of all cultures.

The Louvre Museum is one of the most famous and iconic muse-
ums in the world. It is the largest national museum in France, and the
most visited museum. The Louvre is located in the first arrondisse-
ment, or neighbourhood, of Paris, on the Right Bank of the Seine
River. The museum consists of over six hundred and fifty square
feet of space and contains almost thirty- five thousand pieces of art.
The building it is located in, the Louvre Palace, was originally a twelfth-
century fortress, although the building has been renovated and expanded
many times since the. The gallery celebrates humanity’s long journey
with the remarkable scope of a collection that spans thousands of years.
It reaches world audiences, with visitors from America, India, and China,
and its highlights include such iconic, universally- admired works, as the
Mona Lisa, the Venus de Milo and the Victory of Samothrace. The de-
sign of the Louvre Abu Dubai makes it look as though it floats on water,
the complex taking its inspiration from traditional Arabian city. Stand-
ing on piles founded on a bedrock 18m deep, its imposing form will be
topped by a 180m-diameter cupola supported on five perimeter pillars.
In his design statement, Nouvel said “ The museum is conceived as
a complex of pavilions, plazas, alleyways and canals, evoking
the image of a city floating on the sea. Hovering over the com-
plex will be a form inspired by traditional Arabic architecture.”
When completed in 2013, the 24,000-sqm Louvre Abu Dhabi will have
6,000 sq metres of galleries devoted to a comprehensive permanent
display of ar chaeology, fine and decorative arts, and 2,000 sq me-
tres for temporary exhibitions. The Louvre Abu Dhabi will be pres-
ent major artifacts and works of archaeology, the fine arts and decora-
tive arts from all historical periods, with works drawn from the Louvre
Paris and other French museums and from its own permanent collection.

The B-Membrane
Looking at this new design, no one, even on second thoughts, would
make a wild guess that this device is related to computers. The
name B- Membrane identifies an innovative design and idea. Its
unique design eradicates the need for a monitor and this is replaced
by a projector that is adjustable, able to develop into a captivating
source of light environment. It has a touch screen keyboard which
appears only when you are in need of it and the optical reader is
perfectly incorporated into the design by sinuous lines. This device
is definitely a mixture of functionality and style.

NLV Solar of Switzerland, is showing its full scale four-seater
NLV Quant at the 2009 Geneva Salon- The Koenigsegg Quant: is a
planned four-seat, solar-electric sports car, it was billed as a “car
of the future” designed to showcase NLV Solar’s nifty photovoltaic
and accumulator technology.
Producing 512hp with maximum torque of 715Nm, the Quant runs
0–100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and hits a top speed of 275 km/h. The
all-electric car is powered through a combination of what it has
dubbed a Flow Accumulator Energy Storage (FAES), which charges
to full capacity in 20 minutes, and solar energy supplied via a thin
layer photovoltaic coating over the car. The combined solar/FAES
offer a claimed range in excess of 500km. Koenigsegg is working
with NLV to create a running prototype to move towards a series
production in the near future. Koenigsegg Quant, www.koenigsegg.com
