Conversation Starter 130A

• Focusing on noticing art is a trend in the 21st century. Art exists in every aspect of our lives, whether in architecture, cuisine, or even manners. One of the pleasures in majoring in art is that I can learn to discern the beauties of life. Art, as a major, teaches people how to appreciate the everyday beauties of our world. Where you can find art in your daily life? (Please give an example).

• ( Sixue Fang--Art )

Conversation Starter 130A• Dubai is one of the most successful cities in the world

with its enormous buildings and lucrative businesses. One project that Dubai is trying to accomplish is taking some famous original buildings and making Dubai versions. As an example, we are working on a project called Dubai Eye, which is similar to the London Eye. What are some famous buildings that have been taken from you country or maybe one’s that your country is duplicating or replicating?

(Abdulla AlBader, Architecture)

Conversation Starter 130A

• Some lawyers study abroad because they want to improve their level of education. However, does that mean that the level of education in their country is extremely low? In your country, are the lawyers or people studying abroad doing so because of a lack of education in their native countries?

• (Hamad Aleissaee-Law)

Conversation Starter 130BOne of the tasks of statisticians is that take a census of the population because those numbers may help the governments to plan for the number of hospitals, schools and universities for their community. Do you think that the hospitals and educational institutions are compatible with the population of State College? In other words, did the statisticians present accurate conclusions about the population so the government could provide for their needs?

(Shaikha, Statistic)

Conversation Starter 130B• In Korean hospitals, there are so many

temporary workers who only can work for 2 years. Because if the hospitals employ permanent workers, they should pay the workers much more money than temporary workers. Temporary workers face the stress of contract renewals every two years. In your opinion, who should solve this problem?

• (Bora Lee, Nursing)
