Greetings Teacher of the Year Nominees,
Congratulations on your nomination to serve as the 2018 Richmond Public Schools Teacher of the Year. It is a remarkable honor to be recognized among those outstanding educators who go the extra mile.
Education is a far-reaching and transformative investment in the global community. There are few professions that have the distinct ability to impact every other profession in the world. Great teachers are those who develop positive relationships with support, stability, and encouragement for all students to encourage them toward reaching their highest academic potential. As educators, you influence and shape the future of our students.
This evening marks a special occasion to recognize our outstanding teachers whose dedication and leadership have made a profound impact in our classrooms and the lives of our students. Although it may sometimes seem to be a thankless job where the resources are scarce, you understand the intrinsic reward of helping students gain access to endless possibilities through your instruction. Simply put, you are the epitome of resilience, pride, and success.
I am proud to have the opportunity to recognize your hard work and honored to work along side you to ensure that each of our students has access to equitable educational opportunities every day. Thank you for your continued commitment to excellence and service to Richmond Public Schools.
