Dear Friends,

Aristotle once said, “The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” Thanks to our supportive community, phenomenal staff, fundersand clients, we see this in action each and every day! As we bring all of the moving parts together, we are inspired by the achievementsof our clients and the benevolence of the community. Together we are improving the lives of the people we serve which ignites ourcompassion and fuels the success of those we serve.

When people enter into our programs and services, they ideally will progress through a continuum of care. Our primary goal with all ofthe clients we serve is to equip each one of them with the necessary tools for well-being and independence. Here are a few vignettes, demonstrating the progress we have the honor of witnessing: Terry Ann was admitted to the Markus Mittermayer Group Home in 2015 with a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. She had poor

personal relationships, was very shy, lacked coping skills and her illness was out of control. She attended Boley Centers’ LifeEnhancement Activities Program (LEAP), where she began working in the cafeteria serving lunch and at the peer-run Decaf Corner. She graduated from the group home and moved into Boley’s Owl’s Nest Apartments where she shared a unit with another client.Simultaneous to this, she received Employment Services through Boley Centers’ Vocational Department, finding a job as a dietaryworker for the Pinellas County School system. Terry Ann worked hard to reestablish trust and build healthy relationships with herfamily members and has transitioned into her own apartment.

Linora came to Boley in 2011 with a history of substance dependence, homelessness, anger and a broken support system. Sheimmediately found ways to utilize all of the services we have to offer as well as services offered out in the community. As shestabilized and acquired coping skills in our Day Treatment and Outpatient Counseling Program she gave back to the community asa volunteer at the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen. She went back to school to earn her GED and pursued a license as a Christian Pastor. She has never forgotten the services, support and kindness she received at Boley and now returns as a volunteer, teaching sewingclasses on the LEAP campus.

We are proud to report that with the help of a community grant from the GFWC North Pinellas Woman’s League, we were able tolaunch a food pantry this past year. The pantry was designed to serve clients in our homeless programs and now continues to serve thispopulation with generous funding from the Boley Angels and the kindness of the staff of our community partners – Wallace, Welch &Willingham and Gregory, Sharer & Stuart. Together, “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”

Finally, we have a number of new properties in various stages of development including the Poynter Preserves which will becompleted this spring and named after our longtime Board Member and Boley Angel, Sally Poynter. This property will eventually provide24 one-bedroom units of permanent supported housing for individuals who are homeless and have mental disabilities and low income.Eight of the units are set aside for Veterans. We have another 119 units in various stages of development and intend to develop evenmore affordable housing as we find land and receive funding.

We serve adults with mental disabilities, individuals and families who have been homeless, homeless Veterans and disadvantaged youth.

We provide housing, employment and rehabilitative services. We are stewards of hope and recovery.

We are Boley Centers and our strong roots are nourished by your generosity.

Thank you for your investment in the work we do, but most importantly, the people we serve. Our achievements would not be possiblewithout the enduring commitment of our Board of Directors, our funders, the Boley Angels, our community donors, clients and staff…”the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.”

With our enduring gratitude,

Boley Centers’ Mission is to enrich the lives of people in recovery by providing the highestquality treatment, rehabilitation, employment and housing services.
