I was one of 28 students from ourschools who advanced to this contest by qualifying at a regional contest. This year thetheme for National History Day was “Exploration, Encounter, and Exchange in History”. Mypresentation was a STATE YOUR PRESENTATION titled “STATE YOUR TITLE”. At the statecontest I competed with over 600 other students from around our state.

On Saturday April 23rd, twelve students from Prosser High School and Housel Middle Schoolplaced first or second, earning the privilege to compete at Nationals. The national contestis held at the University of Maryland, near our nation’s capital, Washington D.C. from June12 through J une 16. We will be competing with students from around the nation and

around the world.

While our district is able to provide some support, we are currently seeking financialsponsors to help offset the costs of travel, lodging, and registration. If you would like tosupport this student group we are asking you to thoughtfully consider a donation of lessthan $500.
