The entire hotel and grounds are considered within the show/trial limits. Any abuse of the hotel/adjoining area will be brought to the attention of the VCA hotel liaison and host

committee chair. Any exhibitor’s entries may be refused for previous misuse of the hotel facilities. This is

an AKC supported measure. Control Your Dog Dogs must be on a leash during the entire National Events unless in your room, performing or practicing at an event where a leash is not required or in an area where off-lead activities are allowed. Use Flexi-leads only when exercising dogs outside of buildings when in relatively unconfined space. While walking dogs in any buildings keep your dog on a short lead to mini-mize potential conflict with other dogs and people. If you have a male, consider purchasing a belly band for your dog to wear when you are walking him in the hotel. Do not practice with your dog in the hallways of any buildings, particularly in the hotel.

Weather You can expect almost anything this time of year. Expect lows in the mid 60’s and highs in the mid-70’s to low-80’s in early May. We are most likely to have moderate weather with cool nights and mornings, but there is always a chance of thunderstorms. May is the beginning of tornado season here in the southern plains. There is a large underground tornado shelter in the Capitol Plaza Hotel that can accommodate everyone and their dogs just in case. So plan for rain and bring warm clothes. Bring your bathing suit as the Capitol Plaza Hotel has an indoor pool!
