2016-2017 BULK TRASH PICKUP SCHEDULE
TO USE THIS SCHEDULE• Locate your numbered area on the map.• Find the area number on the schedule.• Bulk trash must be placed out by 6 a.m. on the‘Collection Begins Week Of’ date.
• Placement is allowed only between your area’slisted dates.
• If you have curbside collection of green trashcontainers, you should place your bulk trash onyour property, parallel to the street or curb.
• If you have alley collection of large black trashcontainers, you should place your bulk trash inthe alley.
PHOENIX PUBLIC WORKS BULK TRASH Bulk trash collection is a quarterly service provided by the Phoenix PublicWorks Department as part of your residential trash and recycling service.
Bulk trash consists of materials that are too large to fit in the garbage or recycling container. Materials such asfurniture, large appliances and large amounts of vegetation are often considered bulk trash.

BULK TRASH CREWS DO NOT PICK UP: More than 20 cubic yards per residence, or•a pile the size of a SUV.
Loose debris and litter. Please sweep or•rake area after collection, if necessary.
Loose grass, leaves, weeds, twigs and•hedge clippings. These items must bebagged or boxed and securely tied to becollected.
Household hazardous waste, such as•antifreeze, pool chemicals, oil, batteries and paint.
Community piles.•
Materials such as bricks, concrete, dirt,•rocks, asphalt and roofing shingles/tiles.
Construction materials in excess of 25•pounds or over four feet long.
Metal or car parts in excess of 20 pounds or•over four feet long.
Tires, any shape or size.•
Glass such as windows, shower doors, patio•doors, mirrors, fluorescent tubes, etc.
Appliances that use refrigerants such as•freezers, refrigerators, and air conditioners.
BULK TRASH PLACEMENT RULE The 2016-2017 Bulk Trash Schedule providesa strict timeline of when bulk trash may beplaced for collection. City ordinance allowsnine days prior to the scheduled collectionweek to place bulk trash out. It is a violation ofcity ordinance to place trash out before thelisted “Placement Begins On” date. In aneffort to keep neighborhoods looking clean,tidy and beautiful, please follow the“Placement Begins On” schedule.
“Slow Down to Get Around” is anational safety campaign whichreminds motorists to drivecarefully when near waste andrecycling collection vehicles.Several states across the nation
have adopted legislation due to this campaign. The logos areposted on city waste collection vehicles. The goal is to bringawareness to this safety campaign and to keep residents and ourdrivers safe from any harm.
GOT LOTS OF GREEN ORGANICS?Then consider the Curbside Green Organics programoffered to eligible residents.
This program is still in its first phase ofimplementation. It provides a new large, tancontainer for yard waste only, such as grassclippings, twigs, branches and shrubs. It’sperfect for households that have weekly landscaping maintenanceand/or own large properties. The additional monthly fee is $5 pertan container requested. The tan containers will be collectedweekly, along with trash and recycling.
Materials that should not be placed in the green organics containerare: oleanders, palm fronds, treated wood, trash and food waste,and recyclables.
