2015 YIR

When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly

with great joy.

Matthew 2:10

In 2015 we said hello to Caitlyn Jenner and goodbye to David Letterman. We cheered as American Pharoah won the Triple Crown and the Kansas City Royals won the World Series. We laughed at Deflategate, cried when Zane left One Direction and were horrified by the terrorist attacks in Paris and San Bernadino. As the year comes to a close across the country and around the world, here is

a little news from the Wilkens.

THE WILKENS CHRISTMAS 2014

Greg 2015 was a great year for me. I started a new job in May as the Director of Employee and Labor Relations at Allegiant Air. I also sold my snow blower, shovel and all my cold weather running gear. It was a little hot running this summer (OK a lot HOT!) but I managed to get in enough miles to run the Las Vegas Marathon in November. I’m enjoying everything about Las Vegas and the surrounding area and would love to show you around if you come visit.

Jennifer 2015 was a busy year for Jennifer. She sold our house in Eagan before she and Sarah moved to Las Vegas in July. Jennifer then spent the summer and fall overseeing the construction of our new house, getting Sarah settled into her new school, and making sure Lena didn’t die of heat exhaustion. In December, she started a new job as the manager of a group of nurse case managers at United HealthCare.

Hannah Hannah completed her second year at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs and is currently a junior. She also decided to officially hang up her gymnastics grips and now teaches yoga and fitness classes to cadets. Hannah has thoroughly and completely embraced the Colorado lifestyle – she loves the outdoors and spends a lot of her free time hiking, camping, and even fishing.

Sarah 2015 was a notable year for Sarah. She learned to pole vault, got her driver’s license, moved to Las Vegas and started a new school. She started as a junior at Faith Lutheran High School (note the uniform) and quickly developed a circle of new friends, including a special one named Royal. Sarah recently took up snowboarding (makes sense – we live in the desert!) and can be found most weekends on the slopes of Mount Charleston.
