H E L L O B E A U T I F U L !

Congrats on your engagement! You are in for an incredible adventure and I’d be

absolutely thrilled to be a part of it.

As a recent bride myself, I know how much thought and energy goes into planning

every detail of a wedding. You put blood, sweat, and tears (lots of tears, let’s be

honest) into crafting and planning your perfect day. So it’s my goal to fully docu-

ment all of those details, the heart behind them, and the celebration surrounding

it all. Moreover, your love story deserves to be beautifully captured on camera

by someone dedicated to getting to know you and the moments that make your

relationship truly special. That’s why choosing the right photographer is one of the

most important investments you’ll make for your day, and I’m here to help make

that decision a bit easier.

So please take a look through this guide to get a better feel for my work, my style

and workflow, and get to know a little about who I am as an artist. I’m honored

you’ve reached out to me and I can’t wait to hear more about you and your big day!

I’ve been an artist my entire life. From the moment I could pick up a pencil, the

creative and eccentric world inside my head just spilled out onto paper, either

through storytelling, drawing, or painting. My proclivity for artistic expression bled

into other mediums and I soon fell in love with photography at around 13-years-

old (thanks Dad for letting me play with the family camera!). I began freelancing

professionally at age 16 when I transformed my early explorations of self-portrai-

ture into a booming photography business. Over the last handful of years, I mostly

worked within the music scene, photographing metalcore bands and document-

ing grungy tattooed dudes on tour. Recently, these guys started settling down and

getting married, and it only seemed natural for the girl who used to photograph

their sweaty stage performances to now capture their weddings. It’s something I

never would have imagined doing before, but this type of photography has com-

pletely stolen my heart. I love getting to work with such fun and extraordinary

couples as we create beautiful, unforgettable art together.

As someone with a few quirks myself, I’m all about creating photos that reflect my

couples’ distinct personalities and interests, and capture the uniqueness of their

love. I like working with people who appreciate art, value photography, and aren’t

afraid to brainstorm on some crazy ideas.

In addition to being a photographer, I am also a graphic designer, lifestyle blogger,

Jesus lover, connoisseur of zombie movies, collector of curiosities, antique store /

flea market vulture, In-N-Out Burger addict, and newly married to my charmingly

dorky Star-Wars-loving-drum-playing high school sweetheart.

I absolutely LOVE engagement sessions. They’re one of my favorite parts about

photographing weddings. Sessions are always so much fun and the final photos

are such a stunning and unique reflection of your love story. It’s also a perfect

opportunity for us to get to know each other better and for you both to get com-

fortable in front of my camera before the wedding day. I truly believe engagement

sessions make better wedding photos. They act as a practice round – I’ll learn

more about the ways you naturally interact in your relationship, and you’ll learn

how to pose and flirt organically on camera. Then on the big day, you’ll be pros!

A typical engagement session lasts about 2 hours, and we meet up at a location of

your choosing (or I can offer recommendations) a few hours before sunset. We call

this “golden hour” and the lighting is nothing short of magical. Most often I shoot

outdoors in fields or wooded areas, but if there’s a particular place or style that’s

special to your relationship, let me know! Sessions are super casual and relaxed,

and I’ll direct you the whole way through and make sure you’re 100% comfortable

and looking your absolute best!

TIPS

+ Engagement photos are perfect for save-the-dates and wedding websites.

+ Wear what you’re comfortable in! I recommend bringing a few changes of

clothes to get a variety of looks.

+ I’ll work with you to find a perfect location that reflects your personal style or

matches the theme of your wedding.

CONSULTATION

If you like what you see, let’s set up a meeting! Getting together for coffee or

cocktails with my couples is an important part of the whole wedding photography

process. I want to get to know you and your story, and talk about all the details you

have planned for your special day – and most importantly – ensure we’re a good

fit for each other. * If meeting in person isn’t possible due to location, we can set

up a Skype date or phone call.

CONTRACT & BOOKING

Ready to move forward? After our meeting, I’ll send over my contract which goes

over the rest of the nitty gritty details of my services and we can discuss any linger-

ing questions via email. You can then book me for your wedding date with a $600

reservation deposit.

TIMELINE SCHEDULING

Approximately a month out from the wedding day, I’ll get back in contact with you

to talk about the wedding timeline. It’s important for me to be included in your

plans to ensure we have the necessary time for photographs and make sure your

day goes as smoothly as possible. The more time I have, the more photos you’ll

get and the more creative I can be with them. I’m more than happy to help with

suggestions as you plan your timeline.

WEDDING DAY

A typical wedding day starts with my second shooter and I arriving about an hour

early to scope out the location, get acquainted with you and your bridal party, and

photograph some fun images of everyone getting ready. When you’re all dressed,

we’ll photograph the bride with her bridesmaids and the groom with his guys.

During the ceremony, we capture all the magic and emotions, making sure to get

those first looks and tear-filled eyes. Right after the ceremony, the family gath-

ers for some quick group photos while the rest of the guests make their way to

cocktail hour. I’ll then steal the happy couple away for creative portraits (about 45

min to an hour). This is your moment to breathe and spend a little alone time in

your first moments as husband and wife. The remaining hours are party time and

we’ll photograph all the exciting activities during your reception (bride and groom

entry, dances, cake cutting, etc). We’ll also spend a lot of attention documenting

special details of the day like food, decorations, candids of your guests, and any-

thing and everything to fully capture and preserve the essence of your big day.

PHOTO DELIVERY

After your wedding, I’ll spend the next few weeks sorting through your photos,

picking the best ones, editing and curating them in a way that tells the full story

of your incredible day from beginning to end. Within 6-7 weeks, you’ll get a digital

download of all the edited images in high resolution format. You are free to share

the photos with friends and family, make your own prints, and put together your

own photobooks as you like. I know most of my brides are DIYers, so I don’t try

to upsell you on extra add ons or restrict access to your own wedding photos. If

you’re interested in additional products, I’d be more than happy to discuss that

with you after the wedding.

DO YOU TRAVEL?

Yes! I would absolutely love to discuss travel details for a custom quote.

CAN WE BOOK YOU FOR ONLY A FEW HOURS TO SAVE MONEY?

Storytelling is such a huge part of what I do. Years from now, you’ll want to look

back and be able to relive every detail you spent so much time and effort planning,

and the unexpected moments that made the day truly special. I’m not willing to

miss a second of that, and that’s why I only offer full day wedding coverage.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?

My second shooter and I both work with professional grade Canon digital cam-

eras, lenses, and flashes.

HOW MUCH DO YOU EDIT THE PHOTOS?

Coming from an editorial photography background, I actually quite like Photoshop

and don’t think it’s evil as some might have you believe. I mostly color correct so

the tones match the vibe of your wedding. But if there’s a blemish that decided to

make it’s debute on your big day or a body part got caught at the wrong angle, I’ll

do the necessary adjustments to ensure everyone looks their absolute best.

DO YOU PROVIDE ALBUMS?

Albums aren’t included in the main package. Many of my brides are DIYers and/or

frugal (I was that bride too!), so most have preferred to make their own albums.

I’m 100% onboard with this as that’s what I did with my own wedding, and enjoyed

the freedom it gave me. If you’d like to have an album made by me, I’d be more

than happy to discuss that after your photos have been delivered.
