General SessionFriday, August 72–3 pm

Where Has All the Talent Gone? Finding Your Workforce Online

It’s no secret that high performing companies have high performing teams. But how do you build such a team in your organization, especially after such a tough recession? Where do you go to find the next generation of talent and your future skilled team? Come to this session and find out!

In this fast paced, high tech world, those seeking employment and those doing the hiring are going online and getting creative…Monster.com. LinkedIn, and Indeed.com are just a few of the sites. Today Millennials, Gen Xers and Baby Boomers each comprise one-third of the workforce, and each generation searches for jobs differently. By examining how a highly mobile workforce finds jobs, this session will give you insights you can use to determine how job seeker preferences by generation may impact the future of your workforce, where people are searching for jobs in the present day, and where your next hire is available.

KeynotesOpening KeynoteFriday, August 7, 8–9:30 am

Afternoon KeynoteFriday, August 7, 12:15–2 pm

Jordan Cove LNG Project – All In on This Bet!Jordan Cove LNG is a proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) export terminal and storage facility to be located within the Oregon International Port of Coos Bay. It is the largest commercial venture in Oregon’s history, and means prosperity and growth for the community. Jordan Cove LNG facilities will create approximately 175 direct jobs, 50 indirect jobs (sheriff’s deputies, firefighters, tugboat crews, and emergency planners), and it is anticipated that more than 500 indirect and induced jobs will also be created. The construction employment should average more than 900 workers, with peak construction employing about 2,100 workers. Altogether, more than 750 permanent well-paying jobs will be created in southwest Oregon.

Elizabeth Spomer joined Jordan Cove LNG as president and chief executive officer on November 3, 2014. She has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry, having the majority of her career in the LNG industry. Ms. Spomer has extensive experience in com-mercial activities and developing new growth opportunities. Prior to joining Jordan Cove LNG, Ms. Spomer was senior vice president of global business development with BG Group PLC. Ms. Spomer has also held senior leadership positions with BP and Amoco. Over Ms. Spomer’s career, she has been involved in LNG projects worldwide including LNG export projects in Trinidad and Tobago, Egypt, Australia, western Canada, and the United States Gulf of Mexico, and LNG import projects in the United States, China, Singapore, and Chile.

Closing Keynote and LunchSaturday, August 812:15–2 pm

Building a Strong TeamTeam sports such as basketball, football, and baseball require that time and energy be devoted to building a strong team and to building a culture within that team that will lead to success. That culture is the expression of a team’s values, attitudes, and beliefs, and without each player buying into the culture and working towards a common goal, that team will not get very far.

As a business owner, one of your primary concerns should be your team’s capacity and commitment to work together toward a common goal. Similar to a sports team, your construction team needs to communicate efficiently between groups, share information and ideas openly, and seek out resolutions to problems in an effective manner.

Teamwork is the key to success in any sport or business endeavor. Whether your company is attempting to boost sales and increase rev-enue, or looking to develop ideas for a new facility to bolster operational capabilities, teamwork will ultimately play a deciding role in the success or failure of a project.
