Welcome to Oildorado 2015.

As we move closer to October 2015, I wanted to say thank you for your interest in our

celebration. Oildorado Incorporated provides the all-volunteer staff, to organize and

finance an every 5 year celebration, honoring the hardworking men and women of the oil

industry. Through the years, since about 1930, celebrations have been held every five

years with few exceptions. Taft, California was established and built as an original “Oil

Boom Town” and has had ties to all major oil producing companies over the last century.

This Sponsorship Opportunity booklet is provided as a way for you and your company to

help us honor the rich oil heritage of this area and honor past, present, and future

generations with a quality celebration that has drawn local, national, and in some cases,

worldwide attention.

As you will see, there are many levels of sponsorship and you should know, your

participation, at any level is greatly appreciated and will help us with producing one of

the largest events in Kern County. Our goal is to provide all of this and have funds to

begin the planning of the next Oildorado. Consider making your year-end donation to

Oildorado, Inc. and help support the largest event in Taft.

What is Taft Oildorado Days?

Oildorado Days is a unique 10-day festival dedicated to celebrating the rich Oil

Industry on the Westside in Taft.

Taft Oildorado will take place October 9-18, 2015.

Events will take place in multiple locations over the course of a 10 day period.

Taft Oildorado Days is produced by Oildorado, Inc., a non-profit 501 (c)

Corporation governed by a board made up of 9 Community Volunteers and 18

Committee Members. Tax ID #95-2404813.

Taft Oildorado Days is endorsed by the City of Taft and the Taft District Chamber

of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau.

Held every 5 years since it’s inception in 1930, Oildorado Days attracts 30,000-

50,000 people to the Westside over the course of 2 weekends, making it the 3rd

largest event in Kern County.

Taft Oildorado Days attracts visitors from all over the country with ties and

interest about the event such as class reunions, former and current residents,

relatives, friends, industry leaders, and persons interested in experiencing the

unique history of the oil industry.

Oildorado 2015 will offer attractions for all demographic profiles.

Taft Oildorado Days will be heavily promoted in multiple forms of media include

print (newspapers, magazines, bill boards, banners, posters, event brochures),

Internet (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and webpages), radio and television ads,

and numerous newspaper articles.

Sponsors will receive extensive exposure throughout the event with careful

consideration to maintain sponsorship commitments.

Event Highlights

Oildorado runs for 10 days and promises to be something for everyone—a Grand

Parade, melodrama, queen pageant, sheriff posse, live entertainment,

barbeques, dances, motorcycle races, car show, civic luncheon, carnival, hot air

balloon festival, class reunions, World War II aircraft exhibit and fly-in, contests,

arts and crafts vendor fair, oilfield skills contests, concert series, merchandise

general store, and much more.

There are several areas of sponsorships available including overall event

sponsors and sponsorships for individual events. Oildorado invites your

business to participate in this unique opportunity that takes place once every five

years. Sponsorships are being accepted now.

Oildorado 2015 will have an Oildorado Midway Pavillion located on the Rails to

Trails featuring a large event tent for the Civic Luncheon, Gala hosted by the Taft

District Chamber of Commerce, Class Reunions, and other community events

and contests.

The 2015 TAFT OILDORADO GRAND PARADE will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015. Parade will stretch 1.4 miles starting at Ash and 6th Streets turning East on Center Street disbanding at 1st Street.

The 2015 TAFT OILDORADO GRAND PARADE has always been one of the largest parades in Kern County. With an estimated 40,000 spectators along the way, this event, often referred to as the culmination of Taft Oildorado Days, promises to be one of the biggest and best.
