Trainer: Explain to the trainees you will play a short game as an icebreaker today. Have the trainees split into two groups or families and have them pick their family name. Start by having a member from each group designated to kick things off. 1

Trainer explain the rules of the game now to the trainees.

Playing the Main Game

The main game starts off with one family member from each team coming to the podium and facing off on the first question. The contestant who buzzes in first gets to provide the first answer. If that answer is the number one survey response, his or her family gets control of the question. If not, the opposing contestant gets to try and provide a higher-ranking response to earn control for his or her family.

The team who wins control of the question then provides more responses, one at a time. They are not permitted to consult with one another during this part of the game. If a given answer is not one of the most popular, the family gets a strike. If the team can guess all of the most popular answers on the board before getting three strikes, they win the round and the points accumulated for each question.

If a team does end up with three strikes, control of the round goes to the opposing family. That team then has one chance to come up with one of the remaining responses on the board to win the round and steal all the accumulated points - if they fail, the other team gets all the accumulated the points. Once either a team guesses all the survey responses or a team steals the round and guesses at least one of the remaining answers, then that question is done. A new question and new team members will go to the podium, and the first team player to guess an answer or guess the highest ranking answer, starts the next survey round.

Generally speaking, four main rounds are played in each game. If there is time, two more rounds can be played but these are sudden death "lightning rounds."

Point Values

The point values assigned to each answer come from the number of people who responded with that answer in the survey. Only the most popular answers make it to the game board, so the points don't always add up to 100.

TrainerIn order to keep tally of the points accrued during the game for a question, while viewing the slide right click and select pointer options then choose Pen. When finished, go back to pointer options and choose erase all ink on slide.

Use flip chart paper to keep a tally of each teams points accrued from winning/stealing rounds. Have google open or that calculator application open in windows to add up higher numbers if needed.

Have your answer sheet at hand and when a correct survey response has been guessed, double click on the black bar space next to the survey response. This will trigger the answer and points to reveal itself. Before revealing a correct survey response remember to click on the right hand audio clip when revealing the correct answer guessed by a family member. Always start a new round off by click along the top of the slide to reveal the survey question. Use the top left hand audio clip to buzz someone whos given a answer not on the survey board.

Note to trainer Im an American so all of the sound effects are from the US version, if the sound effects are different in the UK version, feel free to replace these. Be sure when replacing audio files that must start with the slide, that the clips themselves are at the top of the list in the Animation Pane and that they are set to play automatically with previous slide. Otherwise they will not play2
