These are honest cattle, “bred to be cows”… backed by cattle people who breed them to work in some of the harshest range conditions in North America. It proves the Simmental and SimGenetics females can work in any environment. And the Wild Wild West sale showcases our breeding programs.

The Colorado Simmental Association works hard to make the National Western Stock Show Simmental events a reality. They are a small, but mighty group! Almost single handily, they put on the National Western Stock Simmental Show. So to help defray some of those costs, the Wild Wild West will donate the Lot 1 semen tank and semen donation proceeds. We appreciate your support of this lot!

Altenburg Super Baldy Ranch is located in northern Colorado and has been operating there for the past 40+ years. Altenburg’s emphasis is producing commercially oriented bulls for western bull customers. We utilize both Simmental and Angus genetics …. Red and Black. Simmental is utilized for adding growth and yield. Angus is used for calving ease and to add carcass quality. Both breeds have exceptional maternal traits, making the SimAngus females the most sought after cross in the industry. The resulting SimAngus – “Super Baldy” bulls are utilized by producers wanting just a little continental blood or to stabilize a crossbreeding program. We sell 100+ bulls and will hold our 23nd annual Super Baldy Bull sale the 15th of March in 2014. Our cattle are summered at 6 – 7000 feet in “short grass” country requiring 20 acres per cow in the summer. Cows are “trailed” the 12 miles from the ranch each year. Cows are wintered on hay stubble, and corn stalks and calved outside. We try to run them as our commercial customers do. Both A.I. and embryo transfer are utilized to make improvements in genetic progress. Not every year does one like this come along. Augustus “Junior” (as we call him) will be a heifer bull, he is bred that way, reads that way .... New to this year is Nick Winterhalder as our new cattle manager. Nick is a Colorado State University graduate and is fitting in well to our operation. In the spring of 1969, Erroll and Gayle Cook bred their first cows to a new and exciting breed to North America, Simmental. Since that time, Bridle Bit Simmentals, ASA #4086 has evolved into a 100 cow/calf pair operation managed by using the performance Advocate Program to collect and report data on every calf born. Each year, calving season begins February where two and three year olds are kept on separate grass pastures from the rest of the herd. They are supplemented with feedstuff, such as silage, corn stalk bales, and dried distillers grain. Bridle Bit works closely with the local veterinarian to stay on the cutting edge of all herd health and vaccination protocol. After AI season, bull calves and their dams are rotated on native grass with mineral being the only supplement. Heifer calf pairs are placed on leased CRP grass. Calves are weaned sometime in the month of October, depending on the amount of moisture and the condition of the grass. All calves are weaned at the same time to keep data from being compromised.

Weaned calves are sorted into three pens; bulls, replacement females, and fats. All calves are fed side by side with all yearling data collected. Bulls and replacement females are scanned as yearlings while the fats are harvested in June and carcass data is collected. 2013 brought some new changes to the Bridle Bit Gang. In March, Brad married Kristen and in April, Erroll married Peggy. We welcome them both into our family. Jarron Sharpe, who has helped with the WWW Sale the past few years, has been hired on full time and we appreciate his dedication to our operation. Campbell Simmentals in located in the Southwestern region of Colorado, at the base of the San Juan Mountains. Campbell Simmentals is truly a family based business; which includes myself and my wife Chris, our daughter Katie and her husband Kyle. We have had recent new edition to the family business and have welcomed our eighth grandchild, Kinley, who was born in late October. Our ranch is located at an elevation of 7,000 feet, which poses another hurdle to deal with. However, Simmental cattle are bred to handle the elevation very well. It is the SimAngus genetics that are much more prevalent to high altitude disease or big brisket.We winter our cattle on corn stalks on the Navajo Nations (NAPI) Farms located south of Farmington, New Mexico. Most of our calving is done at NAPI, due to better weather conditions. The cattle and the new offspring will move home late winter to finish out the calving. We then will do AI work and do ET work with Cooperator herds; they will then go to lease pastures.

Luckily, for the summer months we have been able to lease pasture close to home. We market our bulls with T-Heart Ranch based out of Center, Colorado. Our bulls go into the T-Heart bull test facility 30 to 45 days after weaning. The feeding facility is located at approximately 8,000 feet in elevation. Making this one of, if not, the highest elevation bull test with some of the harshest temperatures in the nation.With our bull customers harsh range conditions in mind our cattle are bred with an emphasis on calving ease, fertility, fleshing ability, and structural soundness all in a moderately built package. Campbell Simmentals has been absent from the past few years sales due to building back up our herd after several years of drought. We are glad to be welcomed back after our absence and look forward to seeing familiar and new faces this year in Brighton. Ahlberg Cattle, located in Longmont, Colorado, is owned and operated by Rod and Vicky Ahlberg along with their daughter Cashley, breeding Simmental and SimAngus cattle both blacks and reds. We feel that our small herd of 25 cows are a very powerful and highly functional group of cows that are required to produce profitable offspring – ones that are strong in maternal traits, longevity, and soundness with eye appeal without sacrificing performance. We want our cattle to perform in today’s economy. We heavily use AI as well as embryo transfers from our donor cow, Sedgwicks Erica U332, the 2010 National Junior Angus Champion Owned Female, to improve our genetics. Data is kept on all of our calves and we have a rigid criteria to allow them to stay past weaning. Our heifers were weaned on 20 acres of irrigated grass and with the September rains this year we were able to leave them on grass until the end of October. Since that time they have been fed a high roughage ration with very little grain. Once the bulls were weaned they were put into the Altenburg Super Baldy program and will be in their sale on March 15, 2014. We only went to two shows this past fall – Nebraska State Fair and Kansas State Fairs. Our purebred January heifer calf, AHLB Hidden Treasure was crowned Calf Champion at both state fairs and at the

Nebraska State Fair we also received the award for Premier Breeder. After much discussion we have decided to offer AHLB Hidden Treasure for sale in the Wild Wild West Sale.We were fortune enough to win Reserve Champion Percentage Pen of 3 heifers last year at NWSS and our lead off heifer, AHLB Timeless Assets went on win the 2013 Western Regional Junior Show. Again this year we will be exhibiting a pen of 3 heifers at the National Western Stock Show and are excited to offer the entire pen for sale in the Wild Wild West Sale. All the heifers in the sale will be tested negative of PI-BVD. No matter what direction you would like to take a heifer, we do believe that we have it. We have heifers that can be shown every weekend, top end replacements, and future donors and enough variety to cover everyone’s taste buds. Marshall Cattle Company is made up of Troy and Lorna Marshall, along with our three children, Wyatt, Justis, and Wynn. We are a 1st generation operation, but have been involved in the beef business most of our lives. We ranch north of Burlington, Colorado and run 220 registered Angus and 30 SimAngus™ females. We host an annual bull sale the 3rd Tuesday in March.

Our cows are ran in a very commercial environment with the exception of data collection. We run on native pasture during the summer and cornstalks in the winter. Our goal is to provide our customers with the most progressive and profitable genetics possible. We strive to produce genetics that excel in the economically relevant traits of efficient beef production for all segments of our industry. At the Oval F Ranch in northwest Missouri, we believe in sound, productive, big bodied cows that can have a calf and raise it. We use EPDs to help improve all economical traits and appreciate productive females with eye appeal.

We started in 1971 (ASA# 2729) with the purchase of 7 Parisien daughters bred to Bismark and have turned 16 generations from one of those heifers including our Princess and Julie lines, all AI sired. Our Oval F Linda L320 cow is a story in herself and has produced many popular sale cattle at the Wild Wild West and other national sales. We believe in the ASA slogan “The Cow Makes the Difference”.

We have also been successful in the bull department. We were fortunate to own and show AR Extra 8J to the Grand Championship at the National Show and all other major Simmental shows in 1979-1980. We are the breeders of Oval F Ringleader, Oval F Cool Dude, and 2 Division winners

at the National Simmental shows in Kansas City. Our bulls are marketed through private treaty and we are proud of the repeat business from commercial cattlemen in our area.

We are located in fescue country in the rolling hills north of Kansas City. Our cattle are handled much like our neighbors’ commercial cattle. We do not creep feed and what you see is what you get

There are no warranties, expressed or implied, by either the auctioneer or consignor, except as set forth herein, as to the merchantability of fitness for any particular purpose of any animal offered in this sale. The right to bid or the right to reject the final bid, if done before the hammer falls, is reserved for all sellers unless otherwise announced from the sale block or as prohibited by law in the state wherein the sale is being conducted.

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Any change of information other than in the catalog will beannounced from the auction block and such announcements shall take precedence over printed material. All statements made from the auction block or those made by the seller (in private treaty) must be documented by seller if requested by the buyer at time of sale.

TERMS: Terms of sale are cash unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made with the seller previous to the sale of any animal so affected.

PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the property of and therefore is also the riskof the purchaser as soon as it is sold; except it shall be the obligation of the seller to see that animals are fed and cared for free of charge to purchaser, until loaded for shipment or until the expiration of twenty-four (24) hours after the sale, whichever occurs first.

HEALTH REQUIREMENTS: 1. All cattle entered for sale must meet the health regulations of the state in which they are sold. All other agreements regarding the health of the animal will be between the buyer and seller and should be documented in writing. 2. If sale cattle are returned to the seller for an adjustment, they must meet the healthrequirements of the state they are returned to.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: Each animal which is catalogued, offered and sold asa registered animal shall have a certificate of registry available at time of sale. When an animal is sold as “eligible for registry” or “registry applied for”, the seller shall be responsible for obtaining the certificate of registry and for the proper transfer of the certificate to the purchaser including full payment of transfer fees.

IDENTIFICATION: Each animal at time of sale must have a readable tattoo or brandcorresponding to that shown on the certificate of registration.

AUTHENTICITY OF PEDIGREE: When an animal, through parental validation, isdetermined to have an ancestry other than that reported on the registration certificate, the buyer shall be entitled to a refund of the purchase price from the seller upon return of the animal to the farm of the seller at the seller’s expense. The animal in question, at the buyer’s option, may be exchanged for another animal of equal value, or if agreeable with the buyer, the seller may have the certificate returned to the buyer. Any adjustment provided herein, if selected, shall absolve the seller from further liability for authenticity of pedigree to the buyer.

BREEDING GUARANTEES AND DEFINITIONS: 1. Females are guaranteed to be breeders, with the exception of: a) Female calves sold at side of dam b) Injury or disease occurring to the animal after time of sale c) Gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the purchaser d) Females used in ovum transplant after time of sale e) Cows sold with calf at side or a female that calves after sale to a breeding prior to the date of sale 2. Bulls are guaranteed to be breeders (definition as the ability to settle healthy cows by the time the bull is 18 months of age) with the exception of: a) Bull calves sold at side of dam b) Injury or disease occurring to the animal after time of sale c) Gross negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the purchaser d) Bulls shown competitively after sale 3. Any guarantees with respect to the ability to freeze semen shall be made by separate agreement between buyer and seller. 4. Safe in calf females are females that have been diagnosed pregnant by a competentveterinarian, and are pregnant at time of sale. 5. A bred female is a female known to have been served by a bull either by natural breeding or artificial insemination, but it does not necessarily mean that the female is safe in calf to that service. 6. A pasture bred female is a female that has been pastured with a designated bull and has been exposed for the time stated, but it does not necessarily mean that this female is safe in calf to that bull. 7. An open female is a non-pregnant animal. 8. Calves sold off their dams (split pairs) shall carry the full breeding guarantee.

PRIVILEGE OF PURCHASER TO EXAMINE: The purchaser of a female animal may have her examined within twenty-four (24) hours after the fall of the hammer and prior to removal from sale premises. The pregnancy status of breeding status of an female so examined, when found not to be as represented at the time of sale, is cause for the female to be returned to the seller as unsold.

EMBRYO TRANSFER: 1. Sellers should provide upon request a complete history of embryo transfer activity for any female offered for sale.

2. Withholding information on the existence of frozen embryos at the time of sale would be considered an unethical practice.

HORNED-SCURRED-POLLED: DEFINITIONS: 1. HORNED — An animal with a horn growth affixed to the skull that has or has not beenremoved. 2. POLLED/SCURRED — An animal with rudimentary horn growth that will not develop into a horn. The rudimentary horn growth may or may not become affixed to the skull at an older age. 3. POLLED — An animal with absence of horn growth. (An animal can have scurs and still be genetically polled.) 4. SMOOTH POLLED — A smooth-polled individual has no scurs and does not develop scurs later in life.

GUARANTEES: 1. If an animal is sold as polled or polled/scurred and proves to be horned, the seller shall be obligated to refund the purchase price upon return of the animal to the farm of the seller at the expense of the seller or may be exchanged for a polled animal of equal value whichever is acceptable to the buyer. The buyer has thirty (30) days from date of sale to notify the seller that an adjustment is in order. 2. If an animal is sold as smooth-polled and proves to be scurred, the seller shall be obligated to refund the price upon return of the animal to the farm of the seller at the expense of the seller orat the buyer’s option shall be exchanged for a smooth-polled animal of equal value. 3. If an animal is sold as polled and develops scurs, the seller will not be obligated to make any adjustment as a scurred animal is considered polled. 4. If an animal is sold as polled and has scurs, it shall be so announced at the time of sale that the animal has scurs. If it is not announced and the buyer finds before the animal leaves the sale premises that the animal has scurs, the buyer must notify the seller of the findings. The seller shall then be obligated to refund the purchase price.

OPTIONS AND PRIVILEGES OF RETURN OR ADJUSTMENT:The following adjustments do not preclude the right of the buyer and seller to mutually agree upon other terms and conditions for settlement of any dispute.

1. All claims for adjustment or refund must be made in writing either six (6) months from the date of sale or no later than when the animal reaches 24 months of age whichever occurs later, with the exception of claims involving misrepresentation of service sire or as otherwise provided herein. 2. In the event an animal is claimed to be a nonbreeder, the animal may be returned to the farm of the seller, at the buyer’s expense, if in good physical condition, and the return is in compliance with the health requirements of the seller’s state. The seller shall be entitled to a six (6) month trial period following the return of the animal in which to prove the animal is a breeder. If at the end of six (6) months the seller is unable to prove the animal is a breeder, the seller shall, at the option of buyer, replace the animal with another equal value or refund the purchase price.Either option shall be deemed full satisfaction and settlement. 3. If a female is sold as “safe in calf” to a given sire or sires on a specified date or dates and proves not to be as represented, the buyer is entitled to a refund of the purchase price from the seller upon return of the animal and resulting progeny thereof to the farm of the seller at the seller’s expense. 4. If a female is sold as “open” and proves to be with calf at time of sale and examined pregnant within sixty (60) days after sale, the buyer may return the animal to the farm of the seller prior to calving for a refund of the full purchase price or for another animal of equal value, whichever acceptable to the buyer. It shall be the obligation of the seller to bear any expenses incurred for transportation of the animal in question to the farm of the seller.

GENETIC TESTING AND TraitTrac STATUS: Sellers must identify the TraitTracstatus and the results of any qualitative genetic testing performed on any animals orgenetic material offered for sale. The ASA considers it an unethical practice tomisrepresent or fail to disclose the TraitTrac status or qualitative genetic test results ofany animal or genetic material.

DISCLOSURE OF MATERIAL INFORMATION: Sellers must disclose all materialinformation concerning any animal or genetic material offered for sale. For the purposesof these Sale Terms and Conditions, “Material Information” is defined as any informationwhich would be likely to affect the value of the animal or genetic material if theinformation were known to the public.Material Information includes, but is not limited to, information related to genetic tests,blood tests, ultrasound pregnancy results, disease tests, pregnancy and fertility testresults, information related to the sex and age of in utero calves or embryos, andinformation related to the fertilization status of in utero calves, including whether the calfwas conceived via artificial insemination or natural service. The ASA considers it anunethical practice to misrepresent or fail to disclose any Material Information concerningan animal or genetic material offered for sale.

LIMITATIONS OF OBLIGATIONS: These sale terms and conditions constitute abinding legal obligation between the buyer and seller of any animal or genetic materialsold under these terms and conditions. However, the ASA, its directors, officers,employees and agents do not assume any obligation, legal or otherwise, to enforce the sale terms and conditions agreed to between buyer and seller.
