Movement to competitive funding programs (TIGER, TIDs, etc.)

Inclusion of economic impact in project scoring

Infrastructure tailored to needs of industry - 80% of all new jobs are created by EXISTING companies…generating payroll and sales taxes.

The “build it and they will come” philosophy is expensive and not guaranteed to produce a return. Robust regions and communities are really good at identify the economic impact areas.

Jobs & Commerce: Critical Questions

How does new or improved infrastructure support job growth?

How effectively can and do the partners collaborate?

Can partners leverage funding?
