COME CELEBRATE LENT AND HOLY WEEK ON ARCH STREET 2014 Lenten Schedule ASH WEDNESDAY, March 5: Mass and Confession schedule is that of a regular weekday (below). The 10 and 11:45 AM and 12:30 and 1:15 PM Masses will be celebrated with music. The 5:15 PM Mass is in Spanish. Ashes will be distributed after all Masses and continuously in the 1st Floor Church from 6:30 AM until 6:30 PM. MASSES OF REMEMBRANCE: Beginning on Ash Wednesday, March 5, 2014 Wednesdays during Lent, we will remember our loved ones at every Mass. Written prayer intentions will be gathered and offered up in the incense of the Easter Vigil. LGBT Spirituality Group: Wednesday, March 19, 5:30 – 7:30 PM On March 13, 2013 the entire world heard the announcement that the Conclave elected Jesuit Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio as Pope. In the conclave, as it became clear that he would be elected, Franciscan Cardinal Claudio Humes of São Paulo, Brazil, hugged him and kissed him and said, “Don’t forget the poor!” Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio chose the name Francis, after Saint Francis of Assisi and became Pope Francis. Since then, the world has evidenced this Jesuit Cardinal named “Francis” lead the Church with a spirituality that is evidenced in his words and his actions. The presentation will look at the spirituality of Pope Francis who exhibits both Jesuit and Franciscan Spirituality in seeking to “Find God In All Things” and “Preaching the Gospel always and when necessary using words…”

“Pope Francis: A Muslim and Jewish Perspective”

An unemployed actor is hired by a Montreal priest to run a local Passion Play, but his attempts to re-create the Easter story place him in some antagonistic situations that strangely parallel the play’s scenes.

However, it is a necessary component of our Christian growth and a deepening love of Jesus. All of us at times experience heartache, disappointment, doubt, insecurity and human failure. We can even sense that human wholeness eludes us when life becomes more fragmented. Jesus reminds each of us not to abandon hope when times are difficult. No one knows more difficult times than our Lord Himself. Come, make this journey of faith as we deepen our gratitude for all that Jesus did and does for each one of us…if we only let him.
