Reviewers note that the Edge's handling is sportier than some class rivals, saying that overall ride quality is more firm than soft and compliant. A few testers caution against the available Sport trim if you're looking for a comfortable ride, as its large wheels and sport-tuned suspension can deliver a harsh ride over rough pavement. Test drivers say the Edge's steering feels a bit too heavy for their liking, but is accurate.

The Edge is available with Ford’s MyFord Touch infotainment system, which allows control of some climate and audio functions through an 8-inch touch screen. Most reviewers dislike MyFord Touch, noting that it complicates some audio and climate adjustments. A six-speaker stereo and an auxiliary input jack are standard on the 2014 Edge. Available features include a 12-speaker Sony stereo system, dual-zone automatic climate control and Ford’s SYNC system, which includes Bluetooth and a USB port, and allows voice commands of compatible mobile and music devices. Optional safety features includes adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning.
