1. The general meeting of the members of our co-operative On the 16th of July 2014 at 10 a.m. SAMMSS arranged a meeting at Bonshipur Girls’ High School with the members of our co-operative. The following persons were present at that meeting: Fr Luigi, Nilima Munda, Bahamoni Munda, Champa Munda and Chondona Munda and about 120 members of SAMMSS out of 150. All those ladies attended the meeting coming from villages very far away walking in the mud of a rainy day. This is a sign that they have some trust on their daughters.

The meeting went on as follows : at first Nilima Munda gave a short speech and told the audience that this kind of meeting will be held three times a year. Then Champa Munda gave the financial report of the co-operative. She talked about the income of SAMMSS during the last six months and how much money has been disbursed as loans, and how much money there is in the SAMMSS bank account.

Mr. Whab, the Director of the school, was also present, and delivered a nice speech.

At the end of the meeting Bahamoni and Chondona Munda distributed some food to the members and refunded the traveling expenses.

2. New house At the Jisur Nam Ashrom a new house has been built for replacing an old one that was almost tumbledown. It is almost completed. It took three months to build it. We have spent about 600000 Taka (about 6000 Euros). Five masons worked to build this house: four Munda labourers and a Bengali mason. Electricity and water pipe line work was also done by Munda labourers. The girls of the Munda Education Centre cooperated at their best whenever possible.

Demolition of the old building and construction of the new one.

April 24th, 2014: Demolition starts.

May 4th, 2014: Foundation.

June 2014: Ready for roof casting.

3. Guests from Italy On the 20th July of 2014 two Italian guests came at Jisur Nam Ashrom. Their names are Francesca and Marta. They stayed here 5 days. During those 5 days they painted several windows of the new house. They are very good painters. We wish them all the best.

4. Health insurance activities Minoti Munda has been looking after this important work of the co-operative.

According to her report around 90 members of the co-operative from 7 villages have agreed to deposit 20 Taka every month to set up the health insurance fund which has already around ten thousand Taka. Minoti will be present the second and the last Friday of every month at Jisur Nam Ashram to assess the real necessity for health assistance of sick women and their children. In case she fails to be present on those two Fridays she will be replaced by Konika Munda who can be contacted at the following mobile number: 01783781171.
