Staff reports

A Saturday night concert returns to the

fair with James Otto at 8 p.m. on Aug.31.Otto is a contemporary country music

performer with two previous GrammyAward nominations. His rich voice witha county-soul flavor has become wellknown since he started with his firstcharted singles in 2002.

He has produced three albums withthe second albums lead-off single, JustGot Started Lovin You becoming a No.

1 hit. It earned a Grammy Award nomi-nation for the Best Male Country VocalPerformance. Otto is also a successfulsongwriter having earned a Grammy nom-ination for co-writing Jamey Johnsonssingle In Color and Zac Brown Bands2012 single No Hurry.

Opening for Otto is the well-knownOhio group Exploit, the band with a greatrange of music. Exploit has performed inthe Van Wert area and the band is look-ing forward to a good turnout when they

open for James Otto.Ticket prices for the concert are $20

for track and box seats and $15 for

grandstand seating. Ticket sales beginJuly 8 at the fairgrounds office or call419-238-9270 to order.

The 2013 Van Wert County Fair willbe held Aug. 28 through Sept. 2. The fairoffice will open July 8, for the upcom-ing season with hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. tonoon on Saturday.

Single-day fair entry has been reducedto $5 due in part to the financial support

from friends of the fair via donations tothe annual Patron Program. Six-day tick-ets stay at $18 or $3 entry per day.

A new, improved Kids Day onThursday will have reduced gate entry ofonly $3.00 for everyone. Children age 8and under enter free everyday.

Veterans and Senior Day is Friday withfree gate entry for veterans and seniors.

It has been revamped with new support from sponsors,allowing for a tremendous show on the last day of the fair.Look for new and expanded free entertainment during theupcoming fair.
