OUR DESIGNERS

DIANE KAPPAFrom an early age, Diane fondly recalls drawing with crayons, sculpting clay, and sewing fabric. Her mother, an accomplished painter, encouraged Diane’s artistic development. Surrounded by other artists and frequent visits to museums, art became an integral part of her life.While studying fashion design at the University of Cincinnati, Diane

discovered silk painting and right away two worlds collided: a desire to paint and create pattern while continuing to work with fabric and form.For over 11 years Diane designed for a high-end fashion retailer in addition to small, large, and specialty retailers. In 2008, she realized a long-time dream by opening her own surface design studio creating print and pattern for apparel, home furnishings, stationery and now scrapbooking products.Diane’s inspiration is drawn from the latest trends and life’s natural surroundings. Her style is often described as contemporary without being overly trendy. She is always researching and understanding trends, but interprets them into her own way creating a timeless look.

HEATHER TOZZIHaving been an artist from an early age, Heather has always had an eye for color, composition and detail. It was only natural that she would make a career out of what she loved to do. In 2001, Heather graduated from Brooks College of Long Beach, California with her degree in Graphic Design. She later

went on to work as a designer in multi-media advertising in the Southern California area. Heather has played an integral roll in designing for GCD Studios since the very beginning with paper collections such as Zen Garden and Daydream Ensemble. Her proven design skills and fun, easy-going personality reflects in her work. Amazing details, fun patterns, and quirky motifs are her signature design style - a style that has quickly moved her into the spotlight as one of GCD Studios’ premier artists.

KATHY DAVISAs a very young child, Kathy Davis was drawn to and enchanted by the alluring scents and vivid colors of the flowers, butterflies and birds in her grandfather’s garden. The artist in the child was awakened, and she set out on a path that would lead to her future as an art teacher, designer, writer, mentor and muse to millions.She started her company in 1990,

working at a small drawing table in the corner of her bedroom. From those modest beginnings, she launched several lines of greeting cards with various publishers. Since then she has grown to become one of the greeting card industry’s most respected talents.Today, Kathy is one of the world’s leading designers, and her work delights over 100 million people each year. Her love of nature, understanding of people and desire to give back to the world are driving forces in her creative process. As an artist, author, lifestyle designer and entrepreneur, she carries out her vision to “Scatter Joy” through her company’s mission: Joy through Art, Joy through Living and Joy through Giving.

JESSE EDWARDSJesse Edwards has been a professional graphic designer since 2001 when she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Design. She has worked in various different branches of her field including web design, video editing, and print materials.

In 2003 Jesse was introduced into the scrapbooking market through Chatterbox. She worked with Chatterbox for three years and during that time developed a love of scrapbooking and the people and relationships she had made in this wonderful industry. Jesse decided to continue in the industry by licensing her artwork to manufactures and selling into digital scrapbooking as well.

ROB AND BOB STUDIORob and Bob Studio is the design collaboration of artist and illustrator Rob Blackard and designer Bob Beidleman. It’s a creative collision of color, pattern and flair. Their partnership grew from the spirit of collaboration between two creative guys with different points of

view. This difference makes for an exciting, experimental and always evolving artistic vision. From sweet and simple to sophisticated style, their goal is to continually surprise and delight the customer with each new design collection. Always fresh, colorful and playful, but never predictable!

DONNA SALAZARDonna fell in love with art and her husband in high school. A lot has changed in the last 20 plus years but those two loves remain the same. A mixed media artist at heart, Donna loves to experiment with “cross-crafting”. She loves to sew, knit, paint, and draw, but she especially loves paper crafting. Donna sees the beauty that surrounds her in everyday life… from a dusty

wood floor to a frilly piece of lace, you will see Donna blending contrasting elements together to create her “Girlie Grunge” look.Donna teaches technique-heavy classes in stores, at large events, online, and you can even view her web show “Tuesday Tutorials” for FREE every other Tuesday.
