To celebrate the Prehispanic Mayan Ceremony it is necessary the presence of a Shaman (Mayan Minister) that unifies the couple. The Shaman is chosen in a "Choice of God" meeting with representatives who have knowledge and experience in religious acts. The ritual consists of various steps: * The first step is declaring “Mutual Acceptance". It refers to the freedom the couple has to choose to sanctify this union. Moreover it indicates a wish to compromise with love, dignity, respect, consideration and tolerance; without egotism that can limit the capacity to love, grow and benefit. * The step of “Purification". A cup symbolizes the ambiance and mystery of those Mayan times. * The stage of "Offering" is where the couple elevates their wishes to the Gods in promise. * The final step is union and benediction of the couple. DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED: • Actual Passport of the groom and the bride. • Original sealed birth certificate of the bride and groom translated in Spanish IN MEXICO with the stamps from their government IN THEIR

COUNTRY ONLY if they do not have a passport or if the bride was already married before and she does not have the same last name as her father, specifically the bride

• Tourist card form both the groom and the bride( This card will be given to you by the migration officer at your arrival in Mexico, which name must be fill exactly how appears in the passport)

• Pre nuptial blood test: VDRL, HIV, and blood type. These tests have to be done here in the hotel and we will obtain the results in 24 hours. There is an extra charge of $100 usd per person. (The test is not part of any wedding package and has to be paid directly to the doctor cash.)

Divorced; Is important to contact the wedding coordinator with enough time before to come to the resort in case the bride is divorce as she needs specific papers If there are accompanied by there witnesses these have to bring the following documentation: • Actual Passport, Picture id or birth certificate • Tourist card • The witness must arrive to the resort 3 working days before the ceremony In case the groom and the bride do not have any witnesses the hotel will provide them with a charge of $ 20.00 usd each. IMPORTANT: The Original documents are required at lease 4 working days before the ceremony LEGALISATION This could be done: � In their country � In Mexico the marriage certificate will be sent to the civil register to be legalized and then sent back to the couple. It normally takes 8-10 weeks before the marriage certificate is resent to the couple. The cost of the legalization is a total $ 120. - USD and the cost of the sending may depend of the place to be sent.

IMPORTANT! We request the couple to arrive 4 working days prior to the ceremony with the original papers and the witnesses must arrive 3 day before. Please contact your Wedding Coordinator upon arrival AT THEIR ARRIVAL: They should contact the groups, special events & weddings department to in order to finalize all of the details of the ceremony such as choosing flowers, cake flavors and the set up of the wedding ceremony. The wedding coordinator will take a photocopy of all of the documentation needed for the process with the wedding ceremony, the couple and their witnesses need to bring their passports and tourist cards to this meeting. To finalize the wedding coordinator will inform them where to do the pre nuptial blood test. Butterflies release ritual

“A Native American legend tells that if you have a secret wish, capture a butterfly and whisper your wish to it. Since butterflies cannot speak, your secret is ever safe in their keeping. Release the butterfly, and it will carry your wish to the Great Spirit, who alone knows the thoughts of butterflies. By setting the butterfly free, you are helping to restore the balance of nature, and your wish will surely be granted”

When ceremony ends, all the guests will have a decorative box as a souvenir and will enjoy the experience of releasing butterflies. The cost of this experience is $12 usd per butterfly. The bride and groom can also have the option of a massive release.

Minimum quantity required: 50 butterflies. This price is an average since it may vary depending on the number of butterflies required.
