Division-Wide AYP SummaryDid Not Make AYP

Missed AYP by only 2 of the 29 indicators

Exceeded 27 of the 29 Indicators

One Indicator That MCPS did not meet was with the African-American subgroup in Reading

Subgroup results in reading were significantly impacted by the new federal races codes - students now identified in multiple races no longer count in the African-American subgroup

The Other Indicator was with Students with Disabilities in History

Met the Federal Graduation Indicator

Literally, missed AYP by 2 students on one question each!!!!

Only 4 divisions in VA made AYP

Virginia as a state did not make AYP

FileMaker Initiative Cited As Significant Tool for Improvement in All Schools

SCW - Made AYP

Met all 29 indicators without requiring safe harbor!!!

All subject areas continue over 90% overall

Some declines in SWD performance due to removal of VGLAs in mathematics

The following charts show a 3 year model; however, the real story is significant improvement over the past four years.

Middlesex High SchoolMHS - Made AYP

MHS has made significant improvement since 2007-2008 and the implementation of the 4x4 schedule

Met all 29 indicators without requiring safe harbor!

Federal Graduation Index - Indicator Met By Safe Harbor on the 4 year rate, further data will be presented next month on current year’s graduation.

Divisions can meet safe harbor for FGI as long as each subgroup that required safe harbor for reading and math meets the FGI benchmark by safe harbor.

Caucasian students did not meet the FGI standard; however, they were not required for safe harbor in reading or math.

Data “lags” one year and FGI is calculated based on 2010 graduates - 7 ways to make AYP
