story.About a month ago Steven received an invitation from YWAM’s Staff Care & Development Ministry to join a delegation heading to war-torn Afghanistan this coming June as apart of an effort to support the various long-term missionaries working within the difficult country. As you can imagine living and working tirelessly to infuse the gospel of peace into one of the most hostile war-zones on the planet can be an overwhelmingly draining endeavor, if not an outright call to suffer for Jesus. Even so, as a mission we have long felt the call to go to the most desperate and darkest places with the truth of the gospel of love...and we believe we must do so together. So as a response to a call for pastoral support from long-termers working within Afghanistan we feel that this effort to facilitate retreat, fellowship, ministry and care to our Brothers and Sisters working in Afghanistan is from the Lord.

DETAILS.Currently the trip is scheduled for June 19th - July 1st. At that time, Steven will join two close friends and fellow YWAMers and travel to Kabul, Afghanistan before making the long trip up to Mazar-e-Sharif (where we spent a number of months in 2008). Once there, they will spend roughly a week communing with and facilitating decompression time for long-term missionaries in the field. The focus of the trip is to bring a spirit of solidarity as well as spiritual and physical support to our brothers and sisters who have given their hearts to the people of Afghanistan for many years and who need the encouragement of the body.

prayer.We need your prayers! Pray for safety as the team travels to this beautiful and yet often violence riddled place. Pray for a rebirth of vision for long-term workers in Afghanistan. Pray a real spirit of rest can come as a result of the trip. Pray for the persecuted Church, that

their witness will indeed spark a revolution of love. Pray for love without borders to take root in the mission of the body across the world. Pray for financial provision for the team as they prepare to go.
