The Essential APA Membership Department and District Branch NewsletterTRANSCRIPT
Fellowship Application Deadline Extended to
September 10th!!
Eligible members now have an additional seven days to
submit applications and letters for Fellowship
It is with great anticipation mixed with some sadness that I say good-bye to the APA. I am retiring effective September 2nd. I will celebrate this occasion with a two week stay in Colorado babysitting our grandchildren—four great kids for whom I constantly long—now I’ll get my hands on them regularly! The next phase of my life is filled with the promise of time with cherished family and friends, and those hobbies I enjoy so much: tennis and gardening. I have been in the Membership Department for seven and a half years, starting as Membership Coordinator for Areas 3 and 7. Over time, as a result of the Outreach Orientation Program I had occasion to work with over 20 DBs, usually visiting your offices to work directly with DB staff. I’ve traveled from one end of the country (and Canada) to the other, and I appreciate the hospitality always shown me. Once I handed over all my DBs to the Membership Coordinators it was inevitable that I would miss the regular contact with you, but luckily, I have had occasion to spend time with many of you at our Annual Meetings and when you’ve been in town. I will miss this aspect of my job tremendously. It has been a pleasure to work closely with our DB staff and to get to know you. I count many of you as friends and I will remember all of you fondly.

Membership Systems Analyst, Aaron Roberts will depart from the APA on August 20th. He is moving back to the Seattle, Washington area. Aaron spent a year and a half as a Membership Coordinator with Areas 3 and 4. He quickly showed his strengths in data processing and systems management, and was promoted. Our department will find it hard to replace his tenacity and dedica-tion to our members. We wish him well in his future endeavors.
Online CME practice guideline courses which were free to members will now be discounted at 50%.
