Here is the new 2006 Read Aloud America list of recommended books to read aloud to children, from infants to teens and beyond.

We continue to use the same criteria for our reading list:

Excellent read-aloud appeal Cross-section of male/female main characters, genres, and popular authors Strong development of characters, plot, themes, and subtle moral (character- building) messages Age group appropriateness
