Part-1
PICK THE RIGHT NAME
Once picked, it cannot be changed
The name represents your business
The first word of your title is critical for search engine success (read: Google)
GET A VANITY URL
The url is as much representative of your business as your page name. In fact it’s a part of the continuum
The url will impact your searchability both on FB & search engines
Look for close relatives if you can't find an exact match. For example my FB page is /theantifit1
COMPLETE YOUR PROFILE
An incomplete page signals disinterest and apathy
Make sure the DP, the cover image, the contact information are in updated in sync with your physical business presence
Pay special attention to the “About us” section. It’s the meta description of your page! Also, add the link to your home/landing page
USE KEYWORDS STRATEGICALLY
Social media and keywords? Really? Yep. Ultimately it’s all about how easy you are to find and how relevant you are to the search!
Just like a webpage, the page name is your title tag and the “about us” is the meta tag
So when you’re naming the page, picking up the vanity url and writing your description make sure the keywords remain present and consistent
CONTACT DETAILS ARE A MUST
What’s the point of running a business if your customers cannot find you?
Also, the local business listing on Google uses the info available on this part of the page
Again, complete information with accurate operating hours, exact physical address (where you’d want customers to head, not the HQ) reflect professionalism
GO CREATIVE WITH THE COVER & DISPLAY PICTURE
So if you are a discreet dating site for married people, the indicative image on the left rather than your brand logo will work MUCH better
Use the cover picture to convey the mechanics of the business/special promotions. Make sure it doesn’t comprise of more than 20% text
Try and keep the DP consistent, but you can keep playing with the cover image to reflect the latest in your business
PLUG IN A CALL TO ACTION
Okay. You’ve told the visitors about you, you’ve peddled your wares to them. Now what?
You’d obviously want them to take a step towards doing a business transaction or a conversion right?
So it’d make eminent logic for you to assist them in doing so. Do you want them to call you? Do you want them to visit your blog?
Whatever it is that you want them to do, modify the C2A button (it’s right there on the cover pic) and “ask” them to do so
STOP THE SPAMMERS
Facebook has become a hub of useless life forms over time. These life forms want to troll you, or derail your image by posting fake info or even push their own wares on the page!
So I’d suggest disabling people from posting to your page directly.
Admin Panel > Edit Page > Edit Settings > Posting ability tab
Also suggest leaving the comments to posts enabled. Don’t wanna come across as a brand not open to feedback!
