HERKIMER, NY – Herkimer Generals swimming and diving Head Coach Vicki Brown was

named Women’s Coach of the Year this past Sunday (2/14) at Monroe Community College,

helping both her programs finish second overall in the Region III after three days of competition

at the regional championship.

Brown, who is in her ninth year as head coach, saw her program set six new school

records, one of which was a meet record, and capture two regional championships and six runner

ups to finish the weekend with two first team and six second team All-Region selections. The

program’s 80 best times helped the men to the “George Steitz Most Improved Men’s Team

Award” and Brown to Coach of the Year honors.

“I am so grateful to be a coach,” said Brown. “I love sharing my passion for the sport and

showing student-athletes that anything is possible. But, perhaps more than anything, I love

watching my student-athletes reach their own potential, not only as athletes but, as people – it’s

the most rewarding part.”
