For more than 20 years, the Starlight Children’s Foundation has been bringing smiles, laughter and joy back into the lives of children with serious illness or life-altering injury through in-hospital distractive entertainment and out-of-hospital fun family events. The work we do is important. It raises spirits, fosters normalcy, and supports the entire family at a time when they need it most. On April 6th, 2013 at the Fairmount Royal York in Toronto, we will be hosting a colourful evening of laughter, joy and hope at our 18th Annual Starlight Gala. Together we will help raise much needed funding to support Starlight’s vital programming. Our goal is to raise $500,000 for Starlight Children’s Foundation, and with YOUR help we will! Many business and community leaders as well as individuals are already working alongside us. We are always willing to work with our partners to develop a mutually beneficial partnership. For over 20 years, Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada has been transforming the lives of children who live with serious illness or life-altering injury. Through in-hospital distractive entertainment and out-of-hospital family fun events, Starlight supports the whole family throughout their entire journey. Starlight programs provide much-needed relief from constant worry and isolation and give families valuable recreational time together, leaving the “sick” behind, allowing them to return with a renewed sense of strength and hope.
Our Annual Gala plays an important role in the financial support of these impactful programs and services, and this wonderful evening would not be possible without the generous support of individuals and companies like yours. To date, this event has raised over $4.6 million dollars towards improving the quality of life for seriously ill children and their families. We are extremely grateful and honoured by the generosity of our supporters, volunteers, and guests each year who help to make this evening a great success!

Making Children Smile. Helping Families Cope. For over 20 years, Starlight Children’s Foundation has been transforming the lives of Canadian children who live with serious illness or life-altering injury. What makes Starlight unique is that we are there for the whole family throughout their entire journey – from the emergency room to recovery.
While in-hospital, Starlight provides distraction, entertainment, and relief from the stress and boredom of hospitalization. When out-of-hospital, Starlight families benefit from the “Escapes” and “Adventures” programs – offering families valuable recreational time together, an opportunity to leave the “sick” behind and helping them return home with a renewed sense of strength and hope.
In the next year, Starlight is looking to expand to more hospitals and more communities throughout Canada. The need is great – and it is through important fundraising events such as this year’s Gala that Starlight will be able to reach and positively impact the growing number of children and families who so greatly benefit from our programs.
