Pennsville PD Rx Drop Box SCRATCH and LMTI recognition on January 16th at 7:00 p.m. the Coalition is planning a presentation to Pennsville’s Police Chief in recognition of coordinated RX abuse reduction efforts there. This will take place at 90 N. Broad Street, Pennsville. Addictions Recovery and Mental Health Art Show May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Discussion was held regarding putting out a call to artists along with a permission form to participate in this event. There was a show of hands for interest in proceeding at this time, which was tabled, intended to revisit this concept in first 6 months, then 1 year, if no interest expressed at that time. New Business: Pennsville Underage Drinking Town Hall Meeting Our technical advisors have tasked us with offering three town hall meetings. Discussion was held with Don Palmucci of Pennsville for Underage Drinking. It was confirmed with Daytop that their youth are on board and providers are being considered. Consideration is being given for a panel discussion. Involvement of the municipal alliances is also being considered. We are aiming for April with Salem County’s Pennsville doing underage drinking. Salem County Superintendents’ Roundtable – Beth will be attending the next meeting, occurring in February, with the aim to encourage the superintendents to allow the PRIDE surveys to be administered in their high schools in the Fall of 2014. Workgroups The coalition broke down into workgroups to discuss, i.e. Rx drug abuse and discussed possible interventions for implementation. End on a Positive Note: Cory Gilden of the Southwest Council provided a Stress Busters presentation with handouts.
