May 10th 1676
Led by Nathaniel Bacon, colonist joined forces to voice their grievances with the Loyalist of a governor, William Berkeley.
War on Wampanoag
September 1675
On September 9th the colonies declared war on the tribe only to be ambushed with 50 colonists killed 9 days later at the Battle of Bloody Brook.
Granting Pennsylvania
March 10th 1681
King Charles II granted a large amount of New World land to William Penn to repay a debt to Penn’s father
German Calvinist Jacob Leisler caused an
insurrection splitting New York along
ethnic and economic lines, disrupting
government. Leisler was hanged for treason.

Massachusetts issues colonial notes, the
nation’s earliest paper money.

Crown issues a charter that absorbs
Plymouth into Massachusetts.

Salem witch trials begin with the naming of
